Jazz band far too loud. What goes down well in a club doesn't necessarily suit a restaurant. They should learn to adapt their playlist to suit the venue. Also, dessert portion very mean. Left feeling disappointed. Good lively atmosphere though.

Nice clean toilets. Good deal specials everyday. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday evenings good food and drink deals. I thinks I like it. Regular haunt of an old professor here in Oxford world famous historic city of the Dons.

Arrived Friday 7.50pm at 09.07 ‘advised’ last orders for drinks if we wanted them. Felt rushed so glad we didn’t have a dessert. Given time we had to enjoy the evening very overpriced as they were very overt in wanting us out. Not a great experience at all.Had we been told of the very early closing we could have gone elsewhere. Felt rather cheated of what was meant to a good evening with the truncated evening with friends.Local but unlikely to return.

Though we didn't book a table for a Saturday dinner it was very busy.We didn't mind waiting for a while. We had beef burgers with chunky chips, very nice food.Very friendly staff.Well done.👍

Went for a late lunch with my mum & sister yesterday. Hadn't been to Joe's for years & suspected that it would be overpriced for what is it, a captive market of mostly students & tourists, sadly I was right...The service was fine, pleasant however we were not checked back on at anytime to ask about our food which is the heart of the issue. The portions are far too small for the price, and tasteless, cheap ingredients appear to be used or not the right ones. My mother had a veggie pasta dish for £15 that was small and flavourless. I had a similar one for £12.50 and both dishes were essentially the same. My sister had scrambled eggs on toast, eggs were cold & over buttered, toast wasn't toasted. Finally, I had a vanilla milkshake for dessert which was basically a glass of milk with a couple of drops of vanilla extract. I felt I might as well have gone across and bought a pint from Tescos & poured my own. I really feel that Joe's takes its customers for granted in terms of the quality of its food because no matter what the place is always full because there aren't many other places of its size to sit and eat in Summertown but we won't be going again sadly. Total price £57 including service to leave disappointed & we were very British not to complain at the time but when you are just hungry & want to have a catch up with family you don't want to have difficult conversations. I waited til after I'd thought about it to inform on our experience.

Excellent veggie or vegan breakfast with friendly helpful and welcoming staff. Great setting in a venue that offers live music throughout the week. Highly recommended.

Been many times for breakfast, this was our first visit for lunch. They were pretty busy but we still got the same lovely and efficient service. Food arrived promptly, freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious. Lovely clean loos! 👌

Breakfast Not Included.Joe was a odd fellow. He informed me that the "Joe's" breakfast comes as "base". For £9.50 you then had to add eggs, beans and other standard cooked breakfast item's for additional charge (£1+ per item). Bit cheeky to be honest. On top of this it took while to get bill. I want to my money but you make it hard to do so.You have pay £1.50 for the rest of the review.

Went for the burger Monday and really loved it! Really affordable and great selection of drinks and lovely burger! The Oxford sauce was really nice and the outside environment was lovely as well. Would love to try other dishes in the future as well. Having some heating outside could be even nicer. Staff was really lovely as well! Will be back :)
