At first I invited my friends in the restaurant, before coming to the restaurant I was very happy because I am a known customer in the restaurant and I was sure that everything was going well. But the shock was when I walked in and was met by an old woman. I told her I thought there might be less of us than I said when I booked, and she scolded me and kept trying to figure out the number. She was trying to separate the tables because I wasn't sure how many even though the restaurant wasn't crowded and there were plenty of tables available. We were seated and a friend was late, in fact he missed the location of the restaurant. She tried a lot to ask why our friend was late and she is not responsible for our friend being late. One of my friends told me did she invite us to a restaurant or at her house!! I was really sad about her style, we ordered and the food was great as always. When we finished eating we asked to pay the bill and asked to split the bill. She said that there are many of us, I will do something and then come back to you??? And when we were pushing I was laughing with my girlfriend, she was so bad that she was saying why are you laughing??? What is the question you want us to cry? Are you the one who will pay the bill?? Or are we at your house?? It was a very bad experience with her?

Pizza isn't anything special but the attitude of the staff is absolutely unacceptable they act very entitled disgrace to the Oxford community the way they talk to foreign people as if they are stupid. Very dirty behaviour considering oxford is a very diverse city staff needs to be sacked and replaced immediately.

I found a dead fly in my pizza and when I told the manager he brushed me off like nothing happened. I am disgusted. Usually I don't write bad reviews but this restaurant had brought me to my limits.

Wouldn’t return. Truly terrible customer service.I liked my food but unfortunately my friends didn’t, they both ordered a spag bowl and it was fennel seeds galore! Was a very strange and strong taste for a spag bowl.I would return to pizza express for the food but never this one. We pre booked a table and had to wait, we had a very unenthusiastic waitress, she didn’t even thank us at the end. No tip left, poor review and never returning.

Dreadful evening. We arrived on time and it took 45 minutes for us to receive our first drinks order. We the. Ordered immediately again to try and get our 2nd drinks in good time and had the wrong order arrive once half of us had finished our food and the other half were nearly done. Bar man then argued with us saying one of the drinks was correct when it was not. Then stating it was really busy when there were only a handful of other tables in use at the time.Let the Manager know of the issues and had him argue back to us saying that the issues were not true and we had not waited long.Proceeded to say he would take 20% off and walked away as he said this.Waitress was impeccable and gave us a really good impression, unfortunately the lacklustre management and barman made the whole experience bleak.

Very nice staff and they look after you well.Bolognese was ok not amazing. Lacked meat in the sauce and the Parmesan felt like they were rationing.Kids liked theirs and pizza is generally good. It’s a middle of the road place with nice staff so worth a visit. As my gran would say “if your children are feral and the restaurant is suitable for them than who cares what the food tastes like”

Friendly staff and great food. Never disappointed! Most of the seats are upstairs but there are some downstairs that they can set up for those who cannot get up the windy stairs.

Great location in Central Oxford. Tried some new menu choices which were excellent and quickly prepared. Our service was excellent very friendly and welcoming.I think the drink prices are starting to get a little steep, but thats the way its going everywhere. Overall would recommend you know what you're getting and it was well packaged here.

I visited restaurant several times. House from outside does not look historic, but is stylish inside. Menu of meals and desserts is not so wide. Everything what I tasted was great. Coffee and other drinks are also excellent. Staff is pleasant, manager is always available and you can see to the kitchen for food preparation. Restaurant area and toilets are clean. Only small minus is missing terrace for the summer months 🤗. When you visiting Oxford and if you like Italian kitchen, you mast visit. You will not regret.👍

Pizza Express is a chain pizza restaurant just off Cornmarket Street in the centre of Oxford. It was actually my first time going to a Pizza Express and I can't say I'm in any rush to go back. The service was good and there wasn't much waiting around between plates even though it was a busy Friday night. The problem was the price vs quality. It was really expensive and the pizzas were not very tasty at all, I would actually go as far too say that the frozen Pizza Express pizzas you can buy at the supermarket are better! Overall a disappointing experience.
