Pompette in Oxford

3.5 stars.I wouldn’t call the prices “great” as I’ve seen in other reviews. It’s still fairly pricey for what it is. The cold soup was alright. I enjoyed their herb cheese dip but barely comes with anything to dip it in — 4 crackers and a bunch of leaves and root vegetables. Their rum pineapple dessert was unusual but tasty. Very attentive and kind staff. Extensive wine list but the cheaper ones leave much to be desired—you’re better off getting a cocktail than a cheap bottle of wine. Nice place for a date night.We didn’t order any mains because we didn’t have reservations and they told us to wait 45 minutes before we could order mains and by that point we were full on apps and snacks that we just got dessert and left. Even though they really weren’t busy at all. Oh well their loss.Note: they apply an automatic 20% service fee!

Food was nice, but compared to other Oxford restaurants I felt very overpriced for the size and quality.Nice environment, room was well decorated but perhaps lacking the personal nature I was expecting considering the price

The food was excellent, simple yet refined at the same time. The lunch menu is exceptionally flexible, with 2 or 3 courses from set or main menu. Not naturally predisposed towards vegetarian options, I chose the risotto and never regretted it, with its fragrant asparagus and sprinkle of parmesan. Attentive service, great ambience, opportunity for quiet conversation: everything a great lunching experience should be.

Enjoyed a gorgeous Onglet steak here at the weekend which was cooked to perfection. Really lovely team and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend it. They also do delicious cocktails if you're just popping in for a drink

Felt really rushed for my 630 pm booking I was still reading the menu ! When was asked if I was going to order ? Then sat a the bar after feeling under pressure to vacate the table after ordering 2 bottles of wine & cocktails the bill was just under £300 pounds & the barman was so rude we were the only ones at the bar & gave up trying to make conversation!! He just was so ignorant & rude !! Give this place a review yourself obviously the people giving the positive reviews are local people anybody visiting Oxford should try somewhere else

Fine dining in Summertown in North Oxford. Quite large portions, which for some will be a delight. Whereas I thought it a bit too much. All the food was prepared to a high standard and cost was reasonable for the quality delivered.

I had a delicious lunch at pompette recently and suggested this restaurant to celebrate my sisters 50th lunch. I popped in to make the booking but was told, despite their being no other bookings on the day , that the limit to dining was just 8. There are 10 of us ): Gutted and surprised they weren’t more flexible .

Really lovely place with great food. It absolutely worth going off the motorway for dinner there. Mussels were a good quality and nicely done - my fav👌🏻Good selection of vines and dissent prices.

The food is on point and everything you’d wish for. However I can’t give 5 stars because i honestly felt like I was being rushed and I was reminded I needed to leave before I even sat down. Service felt impersonal and rushed if I’m honest, and une manque de français mais bon c’est le brexit

Great new restaurant. Classic decor and comfortable seating.Fantastic classic French menu. The staff are a real credit to this restaurant, friendly, helpful and attentive. Fantastic food, I loved my 3 courses, the Hake was the best I've ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning soon!
