One of the best japanese restaurants I've been to in England. The service, food and price were all good and had an amazing time. If you're in Oxford for a day trip, it's worth visiting

Authentic ramen with thick and fragrant pork bones tonkotsu broth. Reasonably priced. Service staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

The food was excellent, but the customer service was a big NO! The fact they charge a service fee of 12.5% for a table of 2 is ridiculous. At the restaurant I work at we don't charge gratuity unless the table is larger than 6.They refused give me a student discount as I left my ID in the car (fair enough) but when I asked them to remove the the service fee the guy asked me "is there a reason why?" in a mean tone. I was tempted to give my honest opinion "You didn't even serve my food, you never checked on us and you didn't even seat us yourself". I chose not to say these as I didn't want to cause a scene but I really felt the urge to. The white guy in the black shirt (not the manager I assume) never even smiled at us when collecting our payment, Jesus, I know you hate your job but you don't have to make it so obvious. The customer service truly is an embarrassment to all other restaurants and as a waiter myself I experienced everything you should NOT do such as guilt tripping your customer from removing the service fee that shouldn't even be on there in the first place. I give tips when deserved not when asked for.I paid the expensive bill and when we were leaving none of the staff said thank you/Arrigato like they did with the other customers. It's a big shame becuase I would come back for the food but until they staff change I will likely never return. Great chefs let down by awful customer service.

After visiting this place in manchester we where expectation was big, because we where very happy and amazed with the food and customer service but this place is nothing like the one in manchester. We order beer and plum vine for drinks. Drinks where very nice just very over price. After we order Spice Takoyaki. Very impressed be this food. Taste very nice. After we order two Miso Tonkotsu Ramens. This ramen are good but on as good like there signature one Shoryu Ganso Tankotsu. After we order dessers. Miso mochi ice cream chocolate and cookie dough. Not the best mochi we ever had . And another disappointment was there season dessert Sakura soft roll cake. Very tasteless and nothing special for this price. I would give them 4 start but we very very disappointed be our customer service. We wait for get attention for hour. Staff keep walking around like headless chickens and they didnt care about our empty table, empty glasses and we had to wait 30 minutes get our bill. Definitelly not coming back because such bad custumer service.

Japanese noodle bar style restaurant in Oxford shopping centre. Really tasty ramen bowls with plenty of menu choices. Small kids menu too. One of the better Asian style restaurants.

This place made me feels like I'm in Japan not in Oxford City centre 😂 lovely ramen and amazing buns. The atmosphere is triple wow. Everything is so organised and lovely staff manage everything well. Tea? Blows my mind! 🍜

Good food, fair service, very poor cleanliness.Went to dine there on Christmas eve 🎄. Was happy that they were open till late. The food was amazing though priced higher than what I had expected. The service was slow and without smile. It being slow could be attributed to perhaps less staff available on Christmas eve but it does not take much to smile.Cleanliness overall gets zero stars from me...Reasons1. The garlic crusher was dirty with dry garlic stuck on it even before we used it.2. Chopsticks edges were dirty with white deposit on the ends.3. Chopsticks were seen dropped under the table even though we sat at the table that was cleaned and empty before we arrived. Will I return. NO because of higher than expected price and definitely unhygienic setup.

I sometimes come here for lunch and it's always been amazing. The food is delicious (can especially recommend the chicken katsu curry ramen and the pork buns) and the portions are very generous. The staff are always very friendly and polite

They have a special Christmas 3 course for £23 a person!(a side, ramen and a sweet) However I was craving Katsu curry, so we decided to order individually! The sake tasting flight is a good deal. The service was little slow, buns (it was hard bun, we love more scrumptious ones! We tried Pork and Karaage bun both, Pork bun was definitely tastier!) and ramen were okay! We enjoyed Katsu curry and gyoza very much! The gyoza sauce was tasty!

A decent Japanese restaurant in the heart of city with good food and a great service. I went to Shoryu last weekend and enjoyed the food. We started with spicy Takoyaki and gyoza as starters. Takoyaki was simply amazing while gyoza was not very impressive. I would recommend spicy Takoyaki. For main course, we ordered Kotteri Hakata Tonkotsu and Chicken Katsu Curry, which we liked. The service is excellent and the staff are very warm, welcoming and friendly.
