Taste Of Jamaica in Oxford

Collected some delicious takeaway here! Seasoned and coconut rice were nice, chickpea curry was strongly spiced and even though it was not my favourite (a bit too much cardamom for me), it was delicious! The beef were good tender pieces done to perfection! 🙂Glad they didn't use bad pieces of meat or vegetable drowned in salt like some other takeaways do.Will come again!

My first time buying from this restaurant and in my honest opinion, it is the WORST "Jamaican" restaurant I have ever bought food from. I would NEVER go back there!! Waited over 1hr for the food to share, staff informed you after making payment that a particular meat that was ordered was just going to be cooked which was burnt and everything else that was ordered tasted horrible we had to literally throw them away smh waste of money.

Rang up to place an order and collect it, the man was very rude. Said they don’t take orders Over the phone anymore to collect, And then said you did not come collect it last time. Which was wrong we collected it and ever had several deliveries from them. He then tried telling me the price for three things which was triple what it should of been, and I didn’t even finish my order. So I asked to speak to the women.And then he literally left the phone on side and didn’t come back to the phone and then did not answer my phone call at all after that.They are always very rude and it always take like twenty minutes to order anything, food is always so nice which is a shame.

The food we ordered tonight was jerk chicken, rice and plantain.It was disgusting and I'm being nice ! You can tell the chicken was old and probably stored and reheated . When you paid good money all you expect is fresh good food. I mean what's the point in being a takeaway if you xant make decent food. Thank you for ruining my evening.And also to add food that we were meant to wait 70 minutes for we at least expected food that was edible.

Hubby and I had our first takeaway from here tonight - it won’t be the last! Absolutely fantastic, delicious, hot and spicy food, had our tastebuds dancing! Highly recommended! Couldn’t add photos as we ate everything 😁

Tonight I ordered goat curry rice and pea, Ackee and salt fish and ground food, chicken stew rice and pea and dumplings. The food was amazing. This is the first time I had tried all of these dishes and I cant wait to try more from the menu. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will be visiting the restaurant in the near future.

We just finished eating and I had to review it straight away. Four people are very happy. Everything was cooked to perfection, we will see you again very soon. Banging!

Food amazing, patties, jerk pork, goat curry ... authentic Jamaican. Arrived on time and hot. Don't forget to order potato salad and dumplings. Will definitely order again and recommend.

I will unfortunately have to re-iterate Mr. Martin Cush's review from about a month ago because the exact same thing happened to me today. I do not reccommend this restaurant at all. The portions were small, The macaroni and cheese was the worst I had in my life, the salt fish fritters were soggy and tasteless...and the food took two hours to arrive! I have no idea how you have 4 stars on your google page... you do not deserve even half a star....total waste of time and money.

Had my first takeaway from this place last night and will definitely return. It was super tasty and the people were super friendly. I had jerk pork which was delicious and so were the vegetables and the oxtail. Curious about 'Festival' which is apparently some dumpling, so have to try that next time!
