Traditional low-ceilinged pub known for its creaky floorboards and large collection of cut-off ties.

Look, just to make it clear from the start, it's not the oldest pub in Oxford, you know that, I know that, the staff know that. It's old but not as old as it wants. That out of the way, it's a lovely crocked little maze of a pub with staff with good banter and a nice range of beers, lots of cut ties and that low roof, hobbit nock feel.

Nice pub in centre of Oxford with historic building. Food is nice but overpriced for what you get. Paid 16 for a burger that while tasty wasn't as filling as I'd have liked. Otherwise no problems, ordering through the app is quick and efficient.

Have visited this place a few times, the oldest pub in Oxford they say.Really cosy inside, and surprisingly wasn't as busy as I normally have found it in the past.Felt like something was a little missing inside, could of been a bit cosier. Good selection at the bar. Outside was great, they have sorted good outside seating with good heaters.Felt a bit of music both inside and outside would have made the vibe nicer.

It's a nice pub. Moderate prices. Food is good and reasonable portions. But service is super slow. My order took a long, long time to arrive, after reminders, and by then, my friends had finished eating.

The oldest pub in Oxford, a pub has been on this site since the 1250's. Very friendly Landlord, sublime coiled Cumbrian sausage. Well worth a visit if you love old public houses like myself.

Watch your head! The outdoor seating is fantastic and the indoor nice and quaint with lots of old ties and momentos inside. The staff was very nice, the prices fair, although the whiskey selection could be a bit broader. Recommend as a nice spot once it gets a bit dark out.

Went here for Sunday lunch. First, the table ordering device did not work. Then received food. My meal just plainly was not right and for some reason, smelt bad. my friend also noted this and said as soon as I took it back. The smell went away. I ate a little and took it to the bar, away from the rest of the patrons and complained it smelt bad.A member of staff then returned and very loudly pointed ourt he could not smell anything strange, the meal was within the batch date, but he'd offer a refund anyway. Meanwhile, the bar went silent Thanks for that.It doesn't matter if the batch date was OK, it does not answer how it was stored or what oil it was cooked in.You can do a lot better and perhaps best not to shame customers when you are at fault.

Lovely little pub with well kept, small selection, beer. Tie collection started in 1955 I believe. Very nice staff too.
