The only entrance to the hotel is a narrow and steep staircase, impossible to negotiate for senior or impaired folks, the tap water came at 30 degrees minimum in the shower, the mobile AC unit was not connected to the exterior so rejecting as much hot as cold air in the room. Not recommended unless a madly in love couple that won’t mind anything but each other

Great location. Very helpful pleasant staff. Rooms are quirky as expected in a building of this age. Stayed on the first floor. High ceilings, lots of light, big windows. Windows let in street noise at night. Had to sleep with foam earplugs. Overall good stay at reasonable price. Recommend Browns cafe in the covered market for an early breakfast .

Great location for sightseeing Oxford, but rooms are simple and you'll likely be carrying luggage up and down narrow staircases.

Smelly unclean room.Holes in curtains, curtains falling off of rail.Left without staying for my second booked night.Great Location though.Stayed during the first week of June 22.

·

Room was dirty and smelled of drains so bad I couldn’t sleep they also don’t flush toilet when they clean them before you book in

The hotel was up a lot of stairs, the foor to my room was stuck and I had to get help yo open itI did ask if they had rooms without baths yo which they said yes buy in my toon the shower was in the bath

The room was huge in comparison to other hotel rooms, including the bathroom. We had everything we needed in the room. The floor is crooked which is more funny than annoying. No breakfast, however, the coffee shops are right around the corner and the bus stops are near. It is a 10mins direct walk from the railstation, easy to find. The staff is at our disposal and flexible.Be aware that its on the first floor so stairs are inevitable. The price is expensive for students, but acceptable within Oxford.

Large clean rooms. Perfect location for walking around Oxford. Friendly helpful staff. The rooms are on the 2nd 3rd and 4th floors with no lift, so be prepared for stairs. I will be staying here again.

Really pleased I only stayed one night. Sure, the location is great but this doesnt make up for the not so great accomodation. Our room floor was so uneven that it felt like climbing a mountain, the grout in the shower was mouldy, shower curtain marked with some kind of marker, shower head broken and leaking, no hot water in the sink, wifi virtually non-existant - too weak to use. Surely for the price it could be better, and most of the things i've listed are not expensive to fix. Oh and very noisy.

I've stayed here twice and on both occasions the staff woke me up early by having loud, lengthy conversations immediately outside the door. They really need to invest in better soundproofing so that their guests can have a restful nights sleep because you can hear other guests in the rooms upstairs talking. I'd recommend ear plugs!
