I studied in Oxford Brookes for 4 years and this is one of reasons I revisit the city as often as I canIt's such a nice pub with great pints (try the Mortimer's cider!) and a great atmosphere. Alot of happy memories were made here and it's always my number one place to get a drink when catching up with friends in the city

Nice average pub in Oxford, clean and various seats. Good location. The drinks are good. The staff have a bit of an attitude, hence why I wouldn’t give it five stars.

Visited here on 31/5/22 and it was BRILLIANT. I got the club sandwich (attached image) for a mere £8.50, it was one of if not the nicest sandwiches I've had in a long time and it was a very large portion too. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to eat at whilst in Oxford.

Well above average roast beef Sunday lunch on offer here. Makes a nice change from all the mediocrity on offer in Oxford. We'll be back! They don't let you run a tab without leaving your card behind the bar which is an unpleasant practice. Being a city centre venue I can understand this policy for walkins but we had booked for lunch. Makes it tricky to leave a tip for the serving staff.

Great pub. Great beer and really nice food. Staff were really friendly and even put the golf on the TV for me. Will definitely go again.Came here again on 21st May with my son. Very friendly staff again and excellent food and drink. Again, they put the cricket and golf on the TV for us again, without even batting an eyelid. Would definitely recommend this great pub to all. Rosie is very friendly and smiley and I wish all the pubs I visit were as good as this. Keep up the great work.

Came here for a quick drink one evening during the week. It was a little crowded and struggled to find a seat inside, but there is more seating across the alley - we had a great evening nonetheless. The selection of beers and ales was good and the bar staff were friendly.

An impressive and beautiful historic pub with great space and a wide range of drinks. Very unassuming from the street, but a true hidden jem within. Will certainly be a stop on my next visit to Oxford.

Cosy pub with a long history. Staff was friendly and the Fish'n Chips we ordered was tasty. The interior is nicely curated so it was fun just doing a little tour around the pub and look at the pictures on the wall. Particullarly liked the selection of old patents for things that probably never made the market.

The decor and ambience of the pub is excellent, with the staff trying very hard. Ordered food at 13.05 and was still waiting for food service at 14.30. When food arrived the quality was very good, though one item was incorrect. Management did sort out a refund which was a nice offer.Overall, I'd definitely recommend and visit again.

Really nice pub with a whole lot of history. The staff are extremely friendly and had a lovely welcome as we travelled 2 hours to try this lovely city out. The location is good, and even though I didn't have food, but the menu looked half decent.
