Went here today and ordered a chicken sandwich. Chicken was completely raw. Not cooked a bit and raw in the middle, but the whole thing hadn’t been introduced to any kind of heat, just slathered in mayonnaise. Fingers crossed I don’t get salmonella. It wasn’t a case of not liking the food. The food was raw. Regardless of where you bought it in from, the people responsible in the kitchen shouldn’t have served it. Your staff were embarrassed and knew there had been a huge mistake.

The Crown is a good spot. A lot of history and a dark and warm interior really hit the spot. Ales are decent and there is a good range of craft beers available too. Food is standard pub fare, but is done well. Always worth a return visit.

Decent selection of beers. Great seating outside when the weather is warm. The food on the other hand leaves something to be desired.

Rather smaller in the inside than the enticing entranceway would suggest. Nice old fashioned pub ambience but eating areas are possibly a little too cosy for those hoping for quiet conversation. The lunch we were served was fine, if a little underwhelming.

Booked a table - Friday early evening - essential thing to do. We all enjoyed our meals. Small but select dessert menu. All good. Service prompt and food arrived quickly. We dined at our own speed and easily fitted in our 2 hour time slot that we were allocated. Would go again.

Came here during a day trip to Oxford. Traditional little pub with amazing food and service. Would highly recommend.

Great beer, great atmosphere and really friendly staff!! Really really good vibe!! One thing that let it down were the toilets, floor soaking wet, puddles in places! Spoke to the staff after second toilet visit and they soon cleared it up. Probably would be a good idea for a regular "toilet" check by staff!

Ordered bar snacks, including the nachos, which are vegetarian with an option to add meat per the attached description. As all of my party is vegetarian, I did not order with brisket, nor was I asked if I wanted to add it. However, when our food came out, there was brisket covering all of the nachos. When I told the server that this wasn’t what we ordered, and we couldn’t eat it as we’re all vegetarians, he shrugged and said that he just “automatically added brisket”. So, we were charged extra for something we didn’t order and couldn’t eat, and weren’t offered a refund or a new order of nachos. Bad customer service all around. Also — ordered the three appetizers for £16 combo, but was charged individually (and therefore more) for each. Do not recommend.

Picturesque old English pub and that's where it ends. Would not recommend buying a meal here as food is awful. Sunday dinner consisted of powdered mash and pork belly was a slab of fat. Veg cooked for about 3 years and no check to see if food was ok. Would have given -5 stars and irrespective of our clear dissatisfaction, the bill was still requested in full

I’m glad I stumbled across this place! Since my favorite food is mac & cheese, I had the Smoked Applewood Macaroni Cheese and it was so good. The cheese was very gooey with some delicate crispiness added to it. I would have to say that it was the fanciest mac & cheese I ever had in my life, and it was phenomenal. The place itself is also really nice and cozy with beautiful flowers hanging outside of it. I really enjoyed dining here.
