The Jolly Postboys in Oxford

Went for a Sunday roast and had the absolute best service me and the Mrs have ever had at a pub! Our waitress was extremely attentive and knowledgeable but never bothering you and the food was delicious. Very easy 5 stars!

Great pub. Lots of outdoor seating out the front and the back. Good for locking up your bike.

A nice pub to go to with friends in the afternoon or evening. Went there on Thursday afternoon and found this place with lots of available seating. Had some beers, cider and crisps. All good. Friendly bar staff.

Delicious food, friendly service, super good for coeliac sufferers. I've eaten here multiple times having both battered food and beer without ever getting ill. The gluten free food is excellent, the staff are well informed about allergy issues and take them seriously. Much better than some Oxford restaurants which cost three times as much and have absolutely poisoned me.

Absolutely amazing!!! I went there with my partner for dinner. Upon our arrival the Staff welcomed us, then when ordering George; who I think was the manager, came over and explained the menu to us and told us about the special they had on that day.It was amazing! The fish was perfectly cooked and the veg and mash on the air was equally as lovely. It was so nice I had to order another one to go! I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting good food for a good price.

First post-lockdown pub venture, 17/04/21.Nice atmosphere with friendly and chatty waiters, however food let the experience down.Went with a couple of friends and we all ordered the ribs, costing £16.50 per portion, as well as a portion of the deep fried gherkins (I would recommend the latter).Food arrived in a black plastic diner tub with a small portion of fries and coleslaw. However, whilst the ribs were cooked wonderfully they were unbelievably salty which completely overpowered every mouthful. Leading to a friend and myself only having a couple of ribs, and leaving the rest as they were inedible, the other individual also did not finish their food, leaving 3 or 4 of the ribs.We placed the dishes at the end of the table, and were initially ignored (as if the waiters knew the dish hadn't gone down well previously), however we were finally approached around 30 mins later asking how the food was. I explained we did not enjoy it whatsoever, due to the saltiness of the dish, with the waiter then leaving stating they would sort it out.50 minutes after this, we then asked for the bill as we were not told the resolution, and found that £25 had been removed. Whilst I can appreciate the gesture, it is still frustrating we paid £30 for a meal whereby the main feature was barely touched, and only the small side dishes (fries, coleslaw and a couple of gherkins) were eaten.Really nice to be back at the pub, but this was not an experience to remember I am afraid. Booked another table for a few weeks time, prior to this visit, so hopefully the food can them redeem itself.

Came for a work lunch. Nicely decorated and extremely warm and friendly staff.There were a lot of real ales from different breweries and a good selection of nonalcoholic options.Beer battered fish and chips was excellent. It's easy to get batter wrong but this was crisp with no grease. Interesting pickled onions and peas and decent chips.Lots of non meat dishes, mushroom and leek pie and vegan lasagna were both tries by others to acclaim.Highly recommended.

Great local pub with some tasty beers and food. Went for Sunday lunch I'd advise booking. Very friendly owner and bar staff. Starter of bread and bits is almost a meal in itself, tasty Marmite butter. Great roast chicken and I had short rib with chips all very well cooked and presented. Especially good was the fig and pistachio cheesecake, light and fresh. Very good experience, relaxed dining. Will hye going again.
