Great pub away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Excellent food. Interesting menu. True craft beer. Friendly and efficient service. Highly recommended

French country cuisine, lovely service, outside dining on a sunny day, and all delivered at value-for-money prices. Two course lunch for two people with a glass of wine each for under £40. Worth finding this venue, hidden just off the main roads.

Delicious food and amazingly friendly staff. They were so accommodating and helpful. The menu is full of unexpected treats - and the ale selection was great.I was recommended to come here by a friend because of the free monkey nuts…. I think she missed the point as the food on the menu was amazing.I had the burger, which was definitely made from scratch using from high-quality ingredients. The patty was meaty and well seasoned, with crunchy bacon and fresh lettuce. Bonus points for giving the fried egg a little “sun roof”. Very impressed.

A great pub with first class service, friendly and helpful staff and excellent food. And for real ale drinkers, a fine selection of beers. Well recommended and advisable to book a table for meals.

We recently spent a weekend away in Oxford. My husband booked The Old Bookbinders up for a meal on the Saturday. We booked the table up for 8.30 we arrived a bit early and our table was not quiet ready. So we got a drink at the bar, it is quiet a small bar area, but a man sitting having a beer offered us two seats to sit down, while we waited. Our table was soon ready, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced, the staff are very attentive and work very hard. It is a very quirky place with lots of different things on the wall and hanging from the ceiling. If we are ever in Oxford again we would definitely visit again.

I recently enjoyed an evening here while visiting Oxford. I came specifically because of the extensive gluten free offerings on their menu, and I was not disappointed! The food was delicious and I was delighted to enjoy hearty beef bourginon with crusty bread. The atmosphere was lovely, the pub has real personality and character, very pleased that I came out of my way to visit.

A very warm, lovely and cozy pub with beautiful and antique interiors. A lot of drinks to choose from and a decent menu for food. I enjoyed the vibe and the service, which is also excellent. The food is also quite decent.Since the pub is smaller than the other pubs in the area and is quite popular, it is often busy. Would definitely recommend booking in advance - especially during peak times.

Very cozy, and staff were kind. French food menu was great for us. I recommend to book your table at the front part of the pub as its interior is intersting and quite different from the room behind.

Made it just before the kitchen closed but the manager was kind enough to take the order. The burger was great and juicy, with bacon and eggs, and the steak was really good. Try their cheese fries. It’s phenomenal. Also the scenery is rather amusing. In the heart of Oxford.
