Compact riverside pub with a laid-back vibe, serving real ales and a European/North African menu.

Fantastic little restaurant tucked away just a short walk from the city centre. Vegan and vegetarian menu with loads to choose from.Snacks and starters were amazing. Main courses were very tasty and really generous and pudding (to share - we were full) was superb.Great staff, great atmosphere, great food.Parked in the station long stay car park which is just over the river.

We've been promising ourselves to visit this pub for a while as we pass it on our many walks by the river. Found a seat out in the back yard area which is a lovely little sun trap. Golden Hen on tap, was really good,a few others to choose from including Guinness. The food I believe is all vegetarian but had plenty of nice small and large plates on the menu. We had three small plates, all tasted fantastic, really excellent flavours. I was initially disappointed by the portion size in relation to the price, however the flavors were so good I soon overcame this little disappointment. We will definitely go again and take our friends.!

A really fun pub by the riverside with an amazing vegan menu. It also allows dogs inside which is a big plus if you want to dine in with your pup. Food was great and I would highly recommend this.

Lovely, welcoming pub by the waterside. Service was impeccable, the vegan and vegetarian menu was so enticing that it was hard to decide what to eat.Beautiful unusual flavours. I had the paneer, spinach and chickpea satay which was comforting and filling. Sad that I didn't have enough space for the chocolate, mango and passion fruit pudding.Excited to have found this place and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. It's inspired me to cook!

In the good beer guide. Lovely Thames side pub in the back streets of Oxford. 3 ales. Ideal stopping off point when walking the Thames. Traditional pub with plain but attractive interior with some interesting art work.well worth a stop off.

Delicious food! Cosy indoor space for winter times, plenty of outdoor space and right next to the river/lock for the summer. A lovely local!

We stopped here for dinner, as we were in the area and needed a place to stop. We were so pleased that we did. The setting is absolutely superb and reminded us of some of the waterways in France. The attractive building sits on the corner of a row of quaint terraced cottages, opposite the river. A quiet tree lined street lies in between. If you are fortunate enough, a bench seat faces the water so you can grab a pew and enjoy a refreshing drink. There's even a box, for you to place the dirty glasses. The walls of the restaurant are bedecked with striking art, adding to the ambience. We had two starters including - asparagus and aubergine, three mains the burger, polenta, a chocolate torte for pudding plus drinks - all absolutely superb. The bill was £90, for the three of us. Well worth the money for the effort involved, preparing the dishes. The staff were friendly and efficient providing a good service. Dogs are allowed inside and out. The large outside space is undercover with pretty lights. Even if you are not vegan or vegetarian, The Punter is well worth a visit if you are in Oxford and want something different.

This little restaurant really surprised me! I didn't know what to expect from an all-veggie menu as a non-veggie and I was very pleasantly surprised. There were so many things that I wanted to try on the menu and it was all fairly reasonably priced. The tagliatelle was absolutely delicious and I very much enjoyed the "mousse" which seemed more like a tart. Very good all round. Friendly service, although the staff didn't seem to communicate because we had about 3 people try to take our drink orders and 2 for food!
