Stopped off for a Bank Holiday lunch after a walk around Port Meadow. The Trout is a magnificent location and the interiors are luxurious and cosy. The staff were attentive and friendly and obviously concerned to give good service. The ‘dirty burger’ was delicious and caused much finger licking. The duck salad healthy but no less tasty. My trio of cheesecakes was inventive, well presented and great value. A great showing!

Visited Oxford on a very sunny day, I had tried to book here for a Sunday roast, but was fully booked. The reviews looked great - So decided to pop in for a beer anyway and see if it was worth visiting next time I was in Oxford. It was EXTREMELY busy. Managed to find a spot next to the river in the garden.Lovely place, we ordered beers off the table scanner and they took an incredibly long amount of time to come. Would definitely advise booking

Fantastic gastropub. Setting was amazing and the food was delicious. This was topped of by our server Victoria. She was incredible throughout our meal. Attentive, friendly, bubbly, thoughtful and knowledgeable. She made our experience an 11/10! Definitely coming back and hope that we see Victoria again. Thank you!

A wonderful riverside location. Free parking. Good food and drinks choice. The venue has had people like Harry Worth visit in the 60s. Known for its connection with Inspector Morse.

I've been coming here since 1976.Current owners are rude and when I went in I was turned away as a walk in even though they were 15% max occupancy and by their own admission they didn't have a lot of covers booked.Great location, poor management direction and especially when you turn away a journalist

Fantastic place. Classy but cozy ambiance with excellent food and service. One of the most impressive aspects of our experience was our waiter, Connor, who was friendly and made sure any questions or requests were looked after. When waiting for food we were told that a large party had ordered just before us to account for a short delay. It's the kind of place one could have stayed for the rest of the day.Highly recommend after a country walk!

I could not fault The Trout Inn, the friendly reception we received from the staff was fantastic. The food was first class, well presented and fresh as the day is long. The situation of this very old building is very pleasant, on the bank of the River Thames (ISIS). I have no hesitation in recommending all to visit for either a meal or just to relax in high backed chairs with a glass of your favourite tipple. I will definitely be returning.

This is pub I remember visiting with my parents when I was a teenager. Returning some 40 years later it has matured into a wonderful Riverside pub serving superb food. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the decor lovely and I imagine the waterside patio would be so nice on a summer's day with the peacocks walking among the patrons. It is disabled accessable which was useful as we were with my mother.I had the pork belly and can honestly say that the flavours were so intense I have seldom had their equal and none better. My partner had the chocolate bomb which she adored.

Super helpful staff finding perfect and accessible table to eat at with my elderly mum in law. Maya and Holly served us and were both a great example of how to deliver perfect customer service. We had a really lovely evening. Five stars without hesitation.

Absolutely beautiful location set in the countryside just 5 or so minutes walk from a little village. This is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy a drink and some food. Theres plenty of parking. Would recommend booking in advance if you want to come for food especially at the weekends.
