Jazz chilled, an ideal place for a candle-lit family dinner.

Went in to inquire about hiring the venue for an event. The owner was very rude and basically said we could have a look around but he was busy with an important event and couldn't speak to us. Appreciate that they are busy but it's no reason to be rude and could have very easy asked us to come back another time or leave contact details.RE: Unfortunately what you consider as 'very polite' is not how it was received by four people. We visited other venues around Oxford under similar arrangements and where they were busy, they were all polite enough to either ask for our contact details or suggested a more suitable time to return.

Had a wonderful Sunday roast dinner today. I had the beef which was done to perfection. Plenty of beautiful vegetables and great gravy. My wife loved the vegetarian roast too. Looking forward to going back soon.

Nice looking meat roasts but poor vegetarian options. The beetroot and kale Wellington is no longer on the menu, despite what the website menu states, which was a disappointment as the main reason for choosing this pub.On arrival the booked table wasn't ready, having been initially given to someone else, there was a draught from the door being left open and communication generally was poor at times.

Beautiful, quaint pub. Lovely staff and the outdoor area looks great for warm weather weather

Pros - large outdoor seating area and a decent amount of parking, although probably less than would be needed if the pub was full. Real fireCons- unlike the nearby Trout, this pub is not on the river so no attractive view. Such a pub needs to compete on its food, drink and service. Which were from a factory, nothing special and very slow (although the manager was very sweet) respectively. In summer, if there is village cricket, the village pitch is lovely and a short walk away. Perhaps then one might have the quintessential English experience. This pub is probably best avoided the rest of the year though.

Quaint and charming pub restaurant. Lovely food, good ales, log fire.

We came here as a group of three. Having originally booked the pods, given the weather we were thankful to be moved inside! Very friendly waitresses and waiters. The food was exquisite. It's excellent quality, very tasty, and makes the dining experience all the more memorable. Can highly recommend the souffle, the venison burger, the sea bass and the desserts. Nice and clean and well organised inside too.

Lovely pub with a delicious Sunday roast. I especially liked the beef and the cauliflower cheese. The bread was a disappointment and so was the cheese soufflé. Service is inattentive and a bit slow.
