A very small but utterly wonderful pub. Squished between two Blackwells, the perfect place to read the books you buy.

My husband surprised with with a weekend away in Oxford got my birthday. This pub was authentic, quirky and right near all the best places to see.The staff were so rude!! When we asked what drinks they had on tap, the guy behind the bar just about lifted his head to talk to us. He sighed and pointed at the one later they have on tap. Also he wasn’t rushed off his feet, he was checking his phone. When my husband went to the loo, he checked with the girl behind the bar that struggled again to her head up. With an eye roll she nodded. She could even make a sound.I have never felt so unwelcome before in a pub. I have worked in hospitality for years and never before would I even think about treating people this way. It ruined our day as we couldn’t stop talking about it.Disgusted !

Fabulous place with a lovely atmosphere and excellent food. It's a great shame that all the Morse memorabilia has been taken down from the walls. Many people still go there just for the Morse experience and heard many people saying how disappointed they were.At least the Randolph has kept the Morse Bar and memory alive.

Compact traditional historic pub with connections to Morse and other TV programmes. Next door to Blackwells bookshop so ideal for a pint while looking at the books you just bought.A couple of outdoor tables.Decent food.

It was ok but the bar staff weren't too friendly. I asked for a pint and a half and hot 2 pints. Not sure what went wrong. Won't be returning in a hurry.

I’m a student from abroad and I love this pub. It is comfy, nice and it feels like I’m drinking in my living room <3

Very nice hotel in a lovely village. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Meals were of good quality from a varied menu. Our room was clean, comfortable and well furnished. It was above the bar so some sound until closing time. Also noise from water system early morning but neither was a problem to us. It may be a problem to light sleepers but other rooms wouldn't be affected.

Enjoyed the experience of being in the Inspector Morse pub. Very cheap drinks and good selection. Pub is in need of a revamp and bringing back to life but worth a visit.

Its not a very big place at all, its obviously been here for a very long time, and has the lingering feel of things past, one gets the idea, the world moves on and this place stays the same. It has a wonderful patina, and the old fashion smell of a pub, it has a cosy genial, atmosphere..the beer was well kept, and its clients had a genteel air, its an older persons sort of a place, with its own old fashioned charm.Morse was filmed here...his spirit is still strangely indicative of what the place is about...quiet reflection, and conversation...

Definitely a nice pub in the heart of Oxford, comfortable with friendly staff. It’s a small pub, can get crowded, but quiet enough to talk normally. Has many local ales.Pretty good for food too. I had the Game Pie. While not as flavourful as I was expecting, it was very hearty and kept me full for ages!
