A nice little chippy by the docks, no waring inside but plenty of nearby benches. A good choice of fish at good prices, quality of fish was great, big flakes and very tasty not greasy. Chips were ok, went down well with curry sauce and a pickled gherkin. They shut early, so to get the best choice go well before 7:30pm.

They had really good fish and chips with an affordable price. Their fish was really crispy outside but fluffy inside. I also love the batter consistency. Absolutely recommended.

Super service, friendly staff, fish cooked well and super portion sizes! Firm family favourite! Even better now I can order online for delivery!!

Messed up my order, very expensive, for the portions you get, heard before how rude the woman at the till is, now I've seen for myself.Chips were cold! Will not be going back. Give me kingfisher any day of the week!

Lovely food and great service too. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Portsmouth!

Great fish (decent crisp and def juicy) and pickled gherkin and onion. We ordered large cod and proposed/given 2 pieces. Decent chips, which can improve with a more generous vinegar splash. The only big miss is more variety in sauces.

Moist, succulent haddock. GBP 7.5 fairly priced. I believe the owner was there. You know when someone cares, even for a take-away. Unfortunately, as you can see in the picture and from previous reviews, the chips were undercooked and soggy. Easy to spot. I didn’t understand why the attendant didn’t leave them fry for 5 more minutes.

I expected something better. The fries were dry, not tasty. Fish tasteless. All for £ 7. I wouldn't go back there... But staff was friendly and service very fast.

Unquestionably, the best fish & chip shop I have used. Although we ordered fish only (so I cannot comment on the chips), the fish was plump and moist - very meaty - and absolutely perfectly cooked but what made this exceptional was the batter. Despite having the two portions of fish (one haddock and one cod) sprinkled with salt vinegar and taking a 15 minute walk to go and eat the fish, it was crunchy crisp and absolutely delicious. I cannot remember having a better fish and chip shop experience. When I am off my diet, I will add a review on the chips as well but if they were anything like the fish, they will be exceptional too. Nice courteous staff adds to my 5 star review. 😀👍Well done guys - outstanding.
