I went here during restaurant week in Portsmouth and got and app, entree and dessert. The pork belly was incredible and cooked perfectly. For my entree I got the flat iron steak and it was nicely cooked and the sauce was a nice touch. The dessert strawberry cream pie was delicious. The prices are a little higher compared to other places in Portsmouth, but its definitely worth it. The environment and atmosphere is warm and welcoming while still having a formal feel.

One of our new favorites in town. I would classify this restaurant as a new American-French fusion. Creative well-thought through menu and perfect execution. Super responsive service. We had a great time. Excellent place for families, friends, and work colleagues to go to.

There certainly has been a blizzard of activities going on for sure. π With all the doom and gloom of miserable weather, my bride and I decided to make date night Friday night. Impending miserability can make anyone depressed. There was only one decision we could make, we went for a total CURE. Uh huh, we found the medicine we needed was at 189 State St in Portsmouth. We were greeted and seated with a compliment of menus. After looking over the cocktails, my wife made the difficult choice of a Vodka Collins and I ordered The Cure(Pic 1). This is made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon, sweet Vermouth, maple syrup and a brandied cherry. Both drinks were complete perfection and just what the doctor ordered.Upon delivery of the cocktails, we ordered appetizers. My bride ordered the Creamy Tomato Soup(Pic 2) made with mirepoix(a flavor base made with diced vegetables), herbs, just enough cream and parmesan crisps. I ordered the Lobster Bisque(Pic 3). This is slow simmered and has rich flavors of sherry and tomato, and of course, fresh lobster meat. Both soups were simply magnificent. Rich, creamy, flavorful. The perfect start to a meal on a very cold night. For dinner, my wife ordered a beautiful Simple Greens Salad with Grilled Chicken(Pic 4). This salad had mixed greens, radish cucumbers, shaved carrots, shallot, grape tomatoes and finished with a beautiful champagne vinaigrette that was light, refreshing and very flavorful. She ordered a second Vodka Collins.I ordered the Halibut Special(Pic 5). Why? Well, just for the halibut! (Sorry π) I also ordered another drink. This time I got the Elder-Fashioned made with Basil Hayden Bourbon, Elderflower liqueur, orange and bitters( Pic 6). My dinner had a beautiful, moist piece of herbed fish that included a blue cheese farro risotto and bacon wrapped asparagus. This dish was a remarkable play on flavors that worked well together. My wife is not a blue cheese fan, but this risotto had her reeling with surprise. She loved it! It really was an incredible side to a perfect meal. Oh, and who could doubt the addition of bacon to perfectly cooked asparagus? I still think about that meal. For dessert we ordered the Kahlua Creme Brulee with raspberries(Pic 7). Before you ask, yes, it was a delicious, sensuous, decadent dessert that was perfect in every way. What a way to top off a magnificent meal.CURE is a top flight restaurant that continues to deliver excellence at every phase; service, food, and atmosphere. I know many of you have been here, so you know what I'm talking about. For anyone who hasn't been to CURE, you are missing out on a true dining experience.Dine on!

I had a great time! Warm food on a cold night. I learned about this restaurant when I read an interview with the head chef in the AAA travel magazine. The article praised the Five French Onion Soup. I've been into french onion soup π² lately, that and chicken wings. Man, I hope π€ I'm not pregnant!Anywho, I had the soup π² with Goat π Cheese Croquettes and they hit π― the spot! I like the brand of ginger beer πΊ they serve. The interior I liked. Huge flat screen to watch the game. Everyone, even the bartender, were great! I had a chance to talk to me chef as she was working up front. She talked about other interviews, even one with Martha Stewart.WiFi and outdoor dining available. They said they have an outdoor heater. Call or go online to book a reservation.I recommend a visit!Update: Friday evening π, January 2022; French Onion Soup π² was calling. I tried the Mushroom π Forestiere and it was good π! Same bartender. They should keep him!

Amazing food, intimate ambience, and over-the-top service. We got the molasses BBQ ribs, lobster mac and cheese, and cornbread with butter and honey. Everything was absolutely delicious - fresh, layered, and flavorful. Our server was incredibly attentive and energetic, providing great recommendations and graciously accommodating our indecision when we decided to change one of our dishes after ordering. Food came out super fast too

We found a new favorite place in Portsmouth and itβs called Cure. We were there on a quiet Monday and yet the place was quite busy. Our server Matthew was very attentive and helpful. We started with a poached pear and arugula salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Wonderful. For our entree, we ordered the salmon and short ribs and they were done perfectly.Excellent little bistro in downtown Portsmouth that we will definitely try again.

The food and drinks were amazing. The atmosphere and wait staff excellent. Very nice value given all the drinks in addition to apps, dinner and desert.

Soo good! We went here for the first time last night and everything was incredible. Our waitress was so friendly, the garden seating was cute and well distanced, and the food! Oh my goodness the food. The lobster Mac n cheese was the best Iβve ever had and my partner loved their short ribs. Goat cheese croquette appetizer, cocktails, and pumpkin cheesecake were also all on point. Will definitely be going back if we need dinner in Portsmouth!

Cure has two out door dining options: sidewalk and porch. Both are very nice, shaded for pleasant outdoor eating. The service was outstanding, friendly with helpful suggestions. The appetizer were outstanding: crab cakes and muscles. Flavorful with Cure unique twist. Lobster bisque was very good, strong flavor and nice texture. But both of us were less happy with our main entries: steak and duck. Both were slightly overcooked.

Was a little hesitant about this restaurant because of all the advertising about being on Chopped. Usually find that if you push that you were on food network food isnβt that good but this was not the case here. Absolutely delicious food, amazing service and nice atmosphere. Mussels were clean and tender and broth was full of flavor. Confit duck was sweet, tender yet crispy, perfect combination. Korean barbecue short ribs were melt in your mouth tender and cornbread side is a must have!!! Highly recommend. Pork chop was another delicious choice. Lots of flavor and juicy. Cannot finish review without commenting on service. Our server, think it was Kate, was one of the best I have ever had. Read her guests perfectly.
