Galbi - The Korean Table BBQ in Portsmouth

A lovely find when staying in Portsmouth. A small place with a relatively limited menu which means what they do, they do well. We had their set menu BBQ and it was possibly the best Korean BBQ I have had in the UK.

No. I've given the place too many chances but no, each time it disappoints. Poor ventilation means the table top sticky, floor slippery and you leave the restaurant smelling likes a chippy shop. Service has gone down significantly. Staff clearly didn't know what to do, they were constantly on their phones. Serving water to the table but no glasses, serving wine but leave the bottle on the table unopened. Having to draw their attention from their phones to remind them to change the parchment paper even though there was smoke everywhere from every table in the restaurant.

Fantastic service, incredibly well marinated meats. Had a fantastic night here. I lived in Korea for a while, if this place was in Daejeon it would be a regular haunt for me. A little pricey, but worth it.

The food was nothing I have tried before! Absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, just smashing. I couldn't stop eating, that's how good it was! The atmosphere and the staff were brilliant. Pricing was fair for the amount of food you're getting, I'd say it's even too cheap to be that good! Strongly recommend!!

Flesh meats＼(^ ^)／I really like ox tongue.Beer is also nice.For kinds of small dishes that came with set menu were free refills.

Korean fried chickens aren’t even Korean more like a sweet and sour chickens and £5.40 is expensive for less than the sweet sour chickens in Chinese. I had proper Korean BBQ before in London and this is mediocre. The singular chairs is so uncomfortable to sit.

Went here and got the set menu for two. Very reasonably priced, high quality food and a great experience. The gent that served us was very helpful and efficient, however I've knocked a star off as the decor left a lot to be desired!

Great food, quick service and nice atmosphere.However, my group left a few bags behind all of which were returned EXCEPT... a cheesecake that was suspiciously missing.Food 10/10, Cheesecake 0/1, I dont think we need Sherlock to work this one out.

Dinner with my girl here after couple hours fight in pier! Good environment nice food enjoyed but a bit expensive for the small portion.

Took a few work friends to here on a debut trip and there wasn't a disappointed soul amongst us. Great atmosphere, inviting decor, welcoming and accommodating staff and the food was superb. It was my first time ever trying Korean food, and now I can understand why it's a central piece in Korean culture. Tasty, wholesome and very filling. The ability to cook your own food on the grill is definitely the highlight. I'll definitely come again.
