Kingfishers in Portsmouth

Tonight I really fancied fish chips and a pea fritter, went to kingfisher, staff lovely, order swift, bill £13.00. no problems large cod is not cheap. Waited about 20 minutes for order, again no probs freshly cooked. Chips great, pea fritter to die for, but the main ingredient, large cod, was awful, dry and tasteless. So 3 stars for the lovely staff, nice chips and awesome pea fritter, but no stars for the fish,, awful

My daughter ordered us fish and chips and sausage and chips. Absolutely the worst take away ever! After it arriving after about 1 and a half hours and two phone calls later it turned up freezing cold, looking awful and looks like it’s just reheated food. Never will we order from there again. Not cheap either!

Ordered at 8pm, didn’t arrive until 10:04. All the food was stone cold. Curry sauce was as thick as water and tasted like it too. By the time it got here, it was too late to even call them to complain. Wont be returning - this should be refunded.

Ridiculously expensive for very little food. Won’t be returning. £6.20 for a small cod and it’s literally the size of a fishfinger. The “large” chips are the smallest portion I’ve ever seen Spent £25 and will need to go get food after! Absolute bump.

I used to go here all the time until last year today we ordered and was very disappointed dry fish dry chips and pea fritter and the curry sauce was like dish water after washing up a curry plate!! The price was absolutely extortionate for the poor quality definitely never going here again!!!

Stopped in late in a Monday night when all the other fish and chip shops seemed to be closed. Very polite staff, great food.

Well its a best fish and chip shop in the world I learned so much things about how clean and tidy its very tidy and I tried fish well I LOVE IT And I recommend EVERYONE TO GO THERE 🖤❤️

Went in at about 9pm when my partner got home from workFish and chips were superb! Portion sizes werre great as we struggled our way through a medium. It all tasted very fresh and they had no problem putting an inordinate amount of vinegar on mine!The staff were very friendly and we will most definitely be back!

Hands down the best chippy in Portsmouth. Fish is always lightly battered and fresh. Chips always crispy.
