Lord John Russell in Portsmouth

Great pub with a great atmosphere and even better staff members.I was working in the area and its always a bit strange going into a pub/restaurant on my own for an evening meal. I was welcomed with open arms by the staff on site and Jordan in particular could not have done anymore to help.If anyone's in this area I cannot recommend them enough.

If hospitality were an Olympic sport, it'll be gold for Southsea. Jordan was really friendly and accommodating, especially to a visiting nun who'd never been in a pub before. By the end of the evening, it was Sister Act minus Whoopi Goldberg.

Monday is always a dead night in Southsea, but stumbled across this hive of activity on Albert Road- saw some great talent and was well entertained by an enthusiastic, energetic and friendly comic- Marcus Tisson! Very supportive environment, so if you fancy getting up and rapping, singing, dancing, reciting poetry, or even a bit of stand up- get your arse here!Great evening- will make it a weekly habit (for a cheeky few pints too!)

I went to the Lord John Russel for a Saturday afternoon brunch for my birthday with my friends who had travelled over from Ireland for the weekend. The pub had Drag entertainment for the brunch and it did not disappoint. 10/10 experience for entertainment food (The burgers do not disappoint!!) & drinks. Thank you to the fantastic team for looking after us so well and a shout out to their door staff who were so kind when we were leaving to make sure we had a lift home after an afternoon of many cocktails. Thank you for making both mine and my friends day. We cannot wait to come back for the next.

The ladies from Reading, visited last Thursday. We both had a lovely fish and chips dinner, thoroughly enjoyed. The service from the staff was very friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable and safe. Hopefully we will return in the future.

I visited on a Saturday night, but not for too long. The music was good, the vibe was energetic, and I generally had a good time. I didn't use the facilities, so can't comment on the cleanliness/restock of loo roll. I'd visit again.

Often visit this pub, went the other night and was served by a new member of staff, Ben, who was very helpful in explaining the menu to me and provided great customer service. Great food and drinks as per usual!
