Papa John's in Portsmouth

Papa John's now charge £2 for delivery. Papa John's no longer get orders from us.Pizzas were never bad, but their prices aren't cheap so to charge for delivery on top is poor.

The worst pizza I have ever had, It wasn't cooked properly and was very doughy. I called the shop to complain and the guy who answered the phone was very difficult and rude! I had to repeat myself many times saying I did not want another pizza just a refund, I'm not very confident I will receive my refund. Very poor service and food, I will never order from there again!UPDATE - Its been almost 1 month and still no refund! I'm getting no replies after contacting head office and the staff members in the shop are hopeless! Extremely angry I have paid £18 for something I never had!

On the 12th June I ordered 2 large pizzas, 2 sides and a drink. Unfortunately my partner and I was sick with food poisoning after eating this meal. I immediately called up the branch and spoke with the staff and manager “Adam” who assured me it wouldn’t happen again and that I have a complimentary repeat order. I would have preferred a refund but I was told this was not an option.Today at 17:37 I called the branch and RE-EXPLAINED my situation as the staff had NOT written a note on my account for a free meal. I was told that despite me wanting to order different toppings the only order they could process for free was a REPEAT order (the same food that made my partner and myself sick in the first place). The member of staff I spoke with told me they would put my order through and had all my details from my previous order including number and address.I called at 18:37 exactly 1 hour later to ask about the status and eta of my food which they told me that they had to cancel all current orders due to technical issues yet when asked about my specific case and order they were able to see my details and read my address to me. A member of staff assured me that they would put the order through and REFUSED/ COULD NOT GIVE ME AN ETA because “they were busy”.An hour later at 19:41 I called the store again to which I was met with rude employees and manager. I explained the situation again and the manager who shouted at me over the phone told me that the order was never put through and even though I had a valid voucher on my account they COULD NOT MAKE or DELIVER my food today. Not only did this mean that they could view my account but also I had been waiting 2 hours for no food and were told we would not be getting food. I was hung up on 2/3 times during this process and the manager told me that “I was insulting him”. I asked “Adam” for the number / email of his area manager but again I was hung up on.

Took nearly 3 hours to get my delivery after having to go in store and ask for it to be cooked fresh. Also the shift manager can't give refunds so am having to email someone to deal with this issue. Never using them again.

Took an hour to arrive, was barely warm. Left poor review on feedback survey & requested to be contacted about it - no one from the store bothered to do so. On resolution experience survey I selected that no one had contacted me, Papa Johns GB customer services then got back to me next day with an apology and free large pizza.

I've ordered from here well over 20 times over a year or 2, never had an issue. Friendly delivery drivers, order is always correct, best vegan pizza around, always have good deals on. Definitely my favourite pizza place.

Took over an hour to arrive it was cold and barley Luke warm rang up and told I would get a replacement meal , phoned them back to be told that it is the delivery drivers fault and it is cold outside (what is the point of the warm boxes?) told I could have a replacement on one pizza only or the driver would have to pay for a replacement he did offer a pizza next time though. learn some management skills! Next time will go else where the female manager is a lot better then the one we spoke to tonight!

Disgraceful. Couldn’t find my address even though it’s been here for 25 years and is easy to find using any GPS. The app said the food was delivered when it wasn’t! Then the shop lied to me on the phone to say the order had just left ... when the driver had phone me 25 minutes previously. Then they argued with me that it was all my fault because I hadn’t explained where I live clearly enough to the driver ... nobody else has any trouble finding my house! They refused to cancel my order, lied some more ... food turned up cold after 70 minutes and the driver lied again about only just picking it up from the shop. Horrible experience, cold food and horrible people. Will never use them again.

After half an hour of placing my order I rung to see what the eta of the pizzas were expected to be because I couldn't find the track link, to be told the driver was on his way and the pizza would be delivered any minute. Another 25 minutes went by and then I found the track link in my emails which said the pizzas were already delivered. I then spent the next 10 minutes on the phone trying to get through to the shop. Once I was through the employee told me there had been a problem there end and my pizzas were still in the oven. He then proceeded to tell me he needed to go, I tried to explain that I wasn't happy with the situation but he proceeded to raise his voice saying he needed to go and then abruptly put me on hold. Then the line disconnected. The pizzas finally arrived an hour and twenty minutes after I ordered them and they were horrible. Definitely will not be ordering from papa johns again. Food was terrible and the staff are unbelievably rude.

Theres a reason they're doing a free student deal. They know that dominos are far superior and they must entice customers despite their inferiority. However, their free pizzas ironically come at a cost, you may only order for delivery hence you have to order either another pizza or sides to make up the difference. The only saving grace here is that the food is acceptable and good value for money. However the service is not when the food took 2 hours to get to our door
