Room stank. Asked nicely to change it given some right attitude by the old dear on reception. Noisy too with the trains. Avoid.

I have stayed a few times in this Hotel before. It is a fairly good hotel in my opinion, nothing too extravaganza. The staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are kept clean and tidy to reasonable standards. If you're looking for a luxurious hotel then this one is not for you.

Absolutely awful. I’d give zero stars if I could. They don’t answer the phone - called about 10 times to ask for help with parking. It was late at night and as a single women alone, I’d have appreciated some advice. On arrival, guy on reception was rude and unhelpful - won’t give his name. when I said I had been trying to call 10 mins prior and no one answered he said they were busy in the restaurant - fyi the restaurant was closed and empty! So that was a lie. There was also only 1 other person in reception so it wasn’t busy. He called my room number out loudly, when I pointed out it was a standard hotel policy not to do that for single women, he became even more rude and argumentative, holding back my room key! Completely unprofessional and inappropriate. I politely asked him for it several times before he gave it to me. The hotel is also filthy. Avoid it.

Love staying at Premier Inn but on this occasion me and my wife were blown away. I mentioned at reception that we were in town to celebrate my wife's birthday and within 5 minutes of getting in our room a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine were delivered to our door. Very thoughtful and very considerate for a large chain hotel.

Stayed here quite a while back so it's a little late on this one, but my stay here was very comforting and pleasant. Like with most Premier Inn's you get what you pay for, so don't expect anything to knock your socks off, but this particular hotel is relatively new so it appeared clean and well looked-after, at least in the case of the restaurant and my room.A Tesco express is located literally outside the entrance doors, and being in the city-centre you are never far away from anything you'll need. There is a Wetherspoons and multiple bars, 5 minutes away, a supermarket too, and if you don't mind the atrocious taxi fares in Portsmouth, Gunwharf Quays shopping centre and the seafront aren't exactly a huge trek either.Staff were accommodating at the reception desk, and during dinner service on one of the nights, Anita and Adam were very welcoming. The nights that I stayed in, it was unbelievably quiet, which for a city centre hotel is rare. Also, the hotel is less than 20 feet away from the train station, which from my room on the second floor was barely audible. As mentioned your stay may differ given it being a budget hotel, but you get what you pay for, so those who are moaning about their stay and giving it 1 star, take their comments with a pinch of salt. You aren't paying much, so can't really expect much. It's nice to know what you are getting though, and for the price I look forward to coming back.Pleasant stay all-round.

Currently there now. To start the parking isn’t very clear so I called reception for directions. They told me they didn’t know where their carpark was.At dinner the lady who couldn’t give directions told me I couldn’t eat because the table were all booked. In the end, The manager told me to sit where I wish. There were no more than 4 people In the entire restaurant. There was over 20 minutes before food service. The room next door is filled with girls having pre drinks on a night out extremely loud and all that separates is an adjoining non sound proofed door. Reception don’t care.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Extremely affordable and convenient location (right next to train station). It was very quiet, no train noises, no fans, no slamming of doors in hallway. Very, very surprised as to how nice the room was.
