Purple Mango in Portsmouth

Very tasty food, generous portion size in a nice quiet atmosphere. We went twice within 3 days! Very reasonable prices.

Mushroom Biriani with a Cobra. Good food, good price. Can't go wrong.

Firstly, it's not ideal to describe this as an Indian takeaway as it is a full size restaurant. As a restaurant and an expensive one at that - a garlic naan was 5.45 - it is a disappointment.Our main courses arrived 3-4 mins apart and were transposed. Based on the announcements accompanying their arrival, we started each others dishes. Onion bhajis were poor.There are, reportedly, better restaurants in this road.

I have only visited this place once with a friend. We have ordered biryani and chicken pakora, both were worthless.If someone looking for indian food better to avoid this restaurant. For indian food this restaurant is not even worth of single star.

First time at purple mango and we will be back. The menu has a number of exciting dishes we want to try. The service was very good and they were busy. So nice to have mouth watering food served on linen table cloths and pristine white napkins.

On behalf of the curry crusaders I am awarding purple mango a 3 star review. Whilst the sundries, starters and mains where definitely a touch above average the price did NOT match the quality. We as the crusaders have been making our way through the curry houses of Albert road and have been greeted with nothing but the utmost respect and friendliness and even been offered free drinks for our custom. We have made a unanimous decision that the service, although not awful, was not up to the standard that we are used too. We recommend that if you want to charge as much as you do you offer more than you have tonight, I hope that you take on board our comments and maybe you will receive our custom in the future. We as a collective live for curry so speak, eat and review completely and utterly from the heart. The family and I visited here for a curry after the parents recommendation.The staff are very friendly and attentive, with a good sense of humour. The restaurant itself is decorated in a modern fashion.Our order took around 20 minutes to be served. All of the food was well prepared and very tasty. All of the meats were well cooked and most importantly very tender. I feel you can always tell a good curry house by the tenderness of their meat; no puns what so ever!Would recommend eating here if you like curry and are in the area. It's one of the best in Albert Road in my opinion.
