Lovely bar, great door staff (very friendly and reasonable). Great bar staff too, they were both friendly and willing to accommodate difficult drinks. Would definitely go there again on the future. Minus one star only because there was a dude who felt it was his responsibility to patrol the toilets, who barged in on several of us whilst we were using them. Otherwise 5🌟

Visited for the first time for a Sunday roast but left disappointed. Welcome was reasonable - we got taken upstairs and to the restaurant area. We decided upon what roast we wanted and ordered beef...was then told that beef had all gone ( would have been good to be told this when we came in but fair enough) ordered pate for starters. It was then in 40 minute wait, we started to regret out decision. The decor is tired, some lights not working, mismatched knives and forks, terrible cheap glasses. Normally ok, but the price of the roast dinner was over £15 and for that price you expect more. After 40 minutes of waiting for pate, we decided to leave and pay for the one pint of Guinness we did get. It was not worth the wait ( particularly as other tables were complaining and the chairs we were sitting on were strangely wet). We were told that they were understaffed and only had one chef. I sympathise but some sort of apology from the management and at least a free drink would not have gone a miss. Will not be returning.

I had to say the atmosphere was dull lacked a warm welcoming. The food was OK just acceptable very limited menu and very the reparative, lacked imagination obviously they have a deal with a prawn company. I wouldn't take my children there or my mother. The staff was lovely but there was no front of house like management to take you to your table at times we felt like all they wanted was your money and goodbye don't come back. will never go there again. No stars

My wife and I love this place. Whenever we go down to southsea we always call in. The food is excellent well served by very nice and attentive staff. Nice selection of wine and the Guinness is good. Top marks.

Great steak... if you ask for medium rare...But not so good if you ask for extra well done and it still comes out partially rare...!!!And the peppercorn sauce well if you can call it that...!!! Milk with some pepper pods in it...!!!ANDConsidering we were the only customer's in restaurant 69 service was very slow and unwelcoming...What a shame as I had good memories of my besties wedding breakfast here...!!!30 minutes to bring out a Eton mess OMG...Service is Shocking........

My work had a retirement party on Thursday evening. All I can say it was all stunning. The service, staff and owner plus venue was amazing and attention to detail was perfect. The food, considering catering for 35 of us was fantastic, tasty and hot! A really enjoyable, relaxed evening. Well done Restaurant 69 you should be very proud of yourselves. What a great venue for our Christmas party! Hope to see you soon😉

I visited today (Saturday 21/2/15) for lunch with my family. I ordered Cajun chicken salad which came with chips. It was very disappointing compared to what I have had in the past when it was Bar 69 without the addition of the Barnaby chefs. Salad was a few lettuce leaves, 3 small tomatoes and a bit of cucumber. I had anticipated a bed of tasty salad with Cajun chicken slices over the top (normal even in Wetherspoons and Slug and Lettuce). This was far from the reality and the pile of chips were dry and tasteless. Sorry, Restaurant 69 but you need to do better.

Restaurant 69 is a real find! We've been back a couple of times and had the same excellent service each time. Not only has it got a great atmosphere and beautiful decor, the people are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Considering they are a very sophisticated wine bar and bistro, they are surprisingly good at accommodating our toddler (who we take care to ensure is quiet and well behaved, to avoid ruining the atmosphere). Keep it up!
