Sakura in Portsmouth

Love this place!! Brought my partner for his birthday and he loved it too. It has a real wide range of good quality and reasonably priced options. Authentically decorated and always a great atmosphere. The staff are very efficient and friendly.

Amazing food and good prices. Great service too. Brilliant restaurant.

Good service but not that spacious.Food:SUSHI 10/10 - Love the Sashimi platter. Very tasty and you really taste the freshness of the fish.Dumpling 8/10 - Delicious. Nothing much to say but really love the dumpling as compared to other asian restaurant in UK.Ramen 4/10 - I don't recommend if you're looking for a ramen fix. Soup was not that tasty.

I think we kinda got lucky. No reservations, walked in and managed to score a table for 4 and it was raining so bad.We were in for a treat. The lady said we could come in but she needs the table back in an hour.We went on and ordered. I had pork katsudon which is really good. Crunchy and amazing umami flavor. A big portion which is worth it for its price. Rice was fluffy and sauce was spot on.I also had ebi tempura.. 6 pieces of battered shrimps. The batter was not heavy. It was pleasingly crunchy and the dipping sauce was seasoned well.My colleagues had that chashu ramen, the broth seemed very light and healthy for me. Loads of chashu which was very nice of them to do.We also had some rolls. California maki was lovely and crunchy. The ingredients were just right and sized up perfectly too.The other roll with green "sprinkles" was surprisingly good and I wanted to eat all of it, sadly it was not my order and I was full. Next time I would add that to my order. 😊

The only reason I’m giving this restaurant 4 stars is because we made a reservation at 9:30, but got our table only by 10. The staff were very accommodating and friendly though, but I feel they should have alerted the people who had already finished dining, paid their bill but were sitting and drinking. Nonetheless the food and the ambience is amazing! Katsu Curry is to die for! Very nice vibrant restaurant in the heart of Portsmouth. I will visit again in the future.

Friendly staff, we managed to get a last minute reservation on the day by the phone an hour before!Quick service. Extremely yummy food everything was so tasty, good portions and good prices!

Fantastic food, wonderful service. Food is served quick, piping hot and staff are so helpful. First time to sakura but we will be back!

Great authentic food and atmosphere. Very friendly personal despite being quite busy. An excelent place to enjoy a relaxing lunch or dinner. We'll definetly be back :-)
