worst kebab I've had, tasteless and they gave little sauce the chicken meat was dry, just a drama I am surprised that people buy it and are satisfied with the taste. never again

Probably the worst kebab I’ve ever had, not just in Pompey. The meat was extremely dry and tasteless, chicken shish and lamb doner. Rice was bland, added there special sauce to it, probably should of gone without. Pitta was hard and lettuce looked abit brown and old. Chips can tell had been reheated, tasted like cardboard and to top of it I got collection turned up as they was bagging it and everything was cold by time I’d drove to my house 2 minutes away. Will never ever go back and do not recommend to anyone! on the plus side, dog had a better dinner than usual

First ever visit after a recommendation from a friend. The service was polite and quick with my food cooked to order. The food was fresh and very tasty! I'll certainly return again.

WORST PLACE. PLEASE AVOID. its milesqaway from Persian food. Very very less quantity for the money they take. I ordered a large mix kebab with rice. Both the rice and kebabs were partially cooked and bad in taste. The food just ruined our evening. Plus during this covid times they don't have any facility of contactless payment and they accept only cash!!!!I will never visit them again.

Most people originally from Portsmouth will have heard of this restaurant, even if they haven't eaten here.It's a very popular take away, often taking many a call to get through on the phone! It's popularity is not to be sniffed at, the food is delicious.I try and sit in whenever I get the time, I love that extra freshness and the service is good too. Each time we eat here, the food is unreal; meat is tasty and tender, rice is amazing and the ambience of the open grill really adds to the experience.I definitely recommend trying to stop by if you can, but be warned it's very busy and you may need to wait to a table. It's worth it.

I've been eating from this place for as long as I've been living in Portsmouth. Not the biggest kebab fan but have always treated Shirins as the exception because the food is that great and always reliable whenever I've ordered. It’s very authentic and combining the doner kebab with their chilli sauce...you got yourself a winner there. On top of that, the fries are extremely well made and has the perfect crunchiness to it. Easily one of Shirins unique selling point. The service I often find is pretty quick too. Usually just a 10 minute wait. Sometimes less. However, the only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is that I haven't ordered anything else from the menu other than Doner Kebab, fries and rice. Though I'm sure everything else on the menu is great too and well prepared. Finally, I do believe the prices are justified given the quality of the food and quantity.Please do order from this place!
