Update: unfortunately now permanently closed.Excellent steak house serving T bone , fillet and rib eye steaks cooked to perfection.Friendly and helpful staff, highly recommended if you ike steak.

Highchair had no straps so dangerous We ordered calamari and it was horrific they they said it’s shop bought so £12 when they have bought from island? The place and unclean and the lady was rude I’ll never come here again

Been dining at Shorties for over 20 years, has never disappointed yet, Excellent service and good quality of food, if I'm working in or visiting Portsmouth with family then one thing is for sure we are dining at Shorties

This is a difficult review because the food was really nice. I used to come here once a month for about 7 years but we moved away and not been back for a very long time. It was my birthday and I wanted to come back here. The food was really nice, but it has changed slightly and not for the better... It didn't look like it had been cleaned since we last came here! Cob webs, dirty, tired and not well maintained at all! The service was not very good, we had to wait a long time to be served and I hate to say it but I was really disappointed! It's such a shame because I really love the cosy feel of the place and the steak was nice! Just no where near as good as it was before....

First time i have visited on recommendation of a colleague. Looks a bit old outside but once you enter it is Unbelievable! Staff are friwndly and accomidating.Food was excellent and good value for money. You can tell it is a good place to visit there were 15 customers on a Tuesday night.

Customers all onto of each other, not very clean, SCRUFFY waitress, wearing looks like a gym kit( never seems to change it...) , her English seems not very good or when it suits her, call for a table to be told we are full only to walk round corner to see place 3/4 empty! Same as asking to book a table 2 weeks before Valentine's day and told to call day before ...however food was ok and fair price. I would recommend the manager gets a grip and apply themselves because customers notice everything.Enough said!

First time here…Good environment but small table for 4 ppl! Steak and fried mushroom were not good as before. All sides are just water boiled. Dissatisfied and Expensive if for this food quality!Second time here with my girl! Improved Food quality, should be under new management. Tasted the dessert 🍨 finally…

The meat is very good however the sides are not the best. Frozen chips and deep fried mushrooms don't belong with the quality of steak. The same bit of side salad accompanies every meal also, starters and mains. Could be so much better with not much extra work.

Very nice place. The staff was very polite and friendly. The food was delicious and well cooked.

Like stepping back into the 80’s. Whilst the food was cooked very well the ambience service and decor are somewhat dated. As is the menu however the quality of the cooking of my steak was very good. Would I return probably not but it is a great option for the unadventurous that just wants steak and chips.
