Star of Asia in Portsmouth

Must of had about 50 curries from this place while at uni, never had a single bad one. Only a couple times it wasn't ready to collect in 10 minutes so great service. Strongly recommend!!!

So Basically much to all of our discomfort Kris seems to always have one of these before our pool matches on a Thursday night would you please stop serving him as it smells like a rat is crawling out of his insides every week many of us are traumatised and are genuinely scared for the next pool match and we don’t want to put ourselves through this trauma again so I’d appreciate if you could do as I say and just do not deliver to him again

Seemed friendly ordered set meal for 2 all was OK then when we ordered dessert We were told there was no ice cream would we like fruit salad so we said yes...... we were served tinned peaches and mango with glacé cherries and a small amount of yogurt 🤮

The food here is amazingly fresh and cooked to perfection, it isn’t licensed which was a curve ball, but the food is well worth the sacrifice!

Service was brilliant really nice young staff member made us feel really welcomed. Food was honestly the worst thing I have ever eaten like I’ve eaten a lot of curry it was honestly so bad tasteless food and the meat taste rubbery and the same whether it was lamb or chicken. DO NOT EAT HERE! They Litrally messed up everything even the rice like how do you mess you rice. Anyway the young guy who served us was really nice.

Absolutely amazing Bangladeshi food. Together with an amazing meal and excellent service, the owner also gave us an interesting history lesson as well that 99% of the 'Indian' food in the UK are actually by folks from Bangladesh. He clarified however that Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka was also one country at one point in time. I quipped then that his restaurant being called 'Star of Asia' covers all the bases then. He laughed.The butter chicken was tasty, we ordered this really spicy fish that was so flavourful, the veggie dishes were tasty, the chickpea soup and even the naan were down to earth good. We were there on a Monday night so it wasn't busy but if the locals haven't discovered this place yet, they should. We'd be back for sure the next time we're in Portsmouth, we just have to take a flight across the pond as we live in Canada.

First time we been on this Indian restaurant and it's a jackpot very nice food. What surprise me was there was no beer at all which a bit weird to be honest as it was the first time I've seen a restaurant that doesn't have an alcoholic drinks.
