Thatched House in Portsmouth

Again a lovely visit at the Thatched House 😊I've been to the Thatched House many times now. It's always been a lovely visit.All staff very polite and helpful, always going that extra mile.Food is spot on, especially the lamb shank my favourite. It's so beautifully cooked the meat just falls apart. Compliments to the chefs. All food and drinks set at a great price.Restaurant is laid out beautifully. Definitely worth the visit... I will definitely be coming back again soon

I absolutely love this pub. Sarah & Collette and the team are absolutely brilliant. The food is incredible and quite possibly the best steak I've had in a very long time. Also can't fault the salt beef burger, absolutely stunning!

Not the cleanest of places.Plates of food left on tables outside too long so the seagulls were becoming a nuisance.Food very poor, tasteless and cold when bought out.I left half my meal so did my husband and daughter, and the nearby table left most of hers so it wasn't just us being too picky.Have been to Greene King pubs before but never had a complaint, definitely needs improvement.First visit, but I'm afraid we won't be returning.

Lovely pub. Always a good time when we pop in. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are very attentive, friendly and helpful. Can't recommend this place enough.

Love the location of the pub, overlooking Langstone harbour... Great seating area outside to watch the world go by. Cannot wait for summer days sat outside soaking up the sun. Food is excellent especially the deluxe hunters chicken, so tasty! Will definitely come again. Also now I know it's dog friendly I can pop in for a cup of coffee while out dog walking! Staff are all very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Definitely a thumbs up from me and my family 👍🏻👌🏻

Nice friendly pub in a good location overlooking Langston's harbour. Good menu of pub classics and specials days. Large outdoor seating area, but would probably recommend booking at weekends and busy periods if needing an inside seat. Recommended

Unfortunately our experience wasn’t very good, we used to go here many years ago and have a good experience.The staff were fine, they did what you would expect, all working well and smiling etc, the main let down what that Our food was pretty substandard compared to other Greene king pubs, the fried foods were fine, but the lasagna was quite sour like the sauce had turned, the most acceptable bit about the hunters chicken was the chips, the cucumber and peppers in the salad were definitely prepared 2-3 days prior, the cucumber was limp, soft and sour, the peppers were soggy and sour too! The leafy portion of the salad was okay as it was straight from a bag, the chicken was worryingly springy in the centre like it wasn’t cooked long enough, my stomach is suffering today.Terrible shame that everyone felt the same across the table too.. unfortunately we will not be returning to the thatched house.

Well, the building doesn't actually have a thatched roof, but other than that, I've got no complaints. My friends really recommend the Korean chicken burger, unfortunately it's been sold out the last few times, so I've yet to try it. But that's already a good sign I guess.

Went in for lunch today and was very happy with the service and quality :)Sat down and had a look at the menu, brilliant range and there was something for everyone from what I saw.Was served by James, who was super attentive and happy to answer any questions we had ( few fussy eaters in our group ).Nothing was too much trouble for him, he was super fast and very knowledgeable on the menu too which was handy!Massive thanks to him and the kitchen staff for their outstanding service :)

Once my favourite destination in Portsmouth. Great view, good beer selection and food is ok and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, someone who acts like a manager here is very rude and impolite, which ruins the overall experience. There are several similar options in Portsmouth, with better service..
