The Chambers in Portsmouth

Great café I had the eggs royal and it was brilliant. The man that served us was very welcoming and we received first class customer service. I thought it was abit on the posh side as we walked in but the price was very reasonable.

We had a family gathering at Chambers last Sunday for my sister's birthday, there was more than 20 of us in the upstairs room, and everyone had a good time, the food was very good, the service was also good, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.As there was so many of us, families and single people, some drink, others don't , Chambers gave us all an order number so that we could pay individually, and it made paying the bill much easier.

I took my family here for Sunday lunch, wow the service is fantastic very professional and courteous. We had our 11 week old puppy with us they was so kind and even brought out a bowl of water lots of restaurants don’t do this and we walked over to the rear access. Definitely recommend The Chambers and this will now be our new local. Very warming placeMiss this place after moving to our new house and a new born baby and serious superbike crash we’re back

Valentine's Day will be memorable for many reasons. Me proposing to my other half and a gorgeous meal out at Becketts Southsea. Sadly, it will also be remembered for our visit to Chambers for a few cocktails after our meal. This never happened. We were shown to a seat and then told 15 minutes later that they weren't open as a 'bar' and only waiting on those ordering food. It's was embarrassing and soured what was a great night out. The customer service was beyond shocking.

Awful from atart to finish! Poor service, food unacceptably delayed - over 2 hour wait despite pre ordering! If you want to feel like an afterthought then this is the place to go. Food portions tiny, food luke warm, greasy and very overpriced. We will not return and can't recommend. Manager only interested in positive feedback as he totally dismissed my daughters approach. Poor customer service all round!!

Nice environment.Originating from Africa, I didn't mind the stuffed dead animals, but it might upset some people.The ambiance was OK but the wine selection was very limited.

We had the christmas menu, i had the seafood cocktail and hake, it was beautifully prepared and good quality food, my other half had the steak which was cooked to perfection, others had the turkey and agreed it was a good meal, staff were friendly and attentive as well as busy the company was great. All round food value for money.

The interior of this place is so festive and cozy. I could sit here with friends and drink wine all day. My friend and I had their bread and olives, butternut squash soup, and christmas pudding with some rose. It was very good and reasonably priced for the portion (the portion sizes are pretty big). The staff are also really friendly. I had a great experience and would want to return to try their main menu as well.

This was my first time here, visiting at 3pm. It was very quiet, but very cosy inside. The Xmas decorations were great!We chose off of the set lunch menu on Saturday which was £13.95 pp for 2 courses. Drinks were a further £4 each so average prices for the area.The lamb cutlets I had were cooked to perfection and pretty much fell off the bone. I'm no food critic but I'm pretty sure that's a good thing.The staff were attentive without being overly fussy - it always amazes me that waiters ask if the food is OK at the exact time I have a mouthful of food.All in all I'd recommend Chambers if this visit was indicative of their usual standards.

Lovely food, very unique decor. Excellent spot for a romantic dinner for two. Polite friendly staff. Some of the portions are rather large beware!I'd recommend the cocktails and lounge area as well.
