In its current dingy form with dark paint and too many big screens showing irrelevant sport (that most customers show no interest in) it feels like a hollow and soulless void rather than a spacious and salubrious venue. Staff are very helpful and friendly, menu involves the usual burgers and chips, which are always tasty. With a little redecoration & thought this place could be outstanding.Update May 2022: After a timely redecoration it looks barely any different. The staff are still lovely. It's faster to order from the table-service app than to go to the bar, where inexplicably, there is an orderly queue rather than the usual British style where punters all approach the bar, take turns to order and talk to each other ).

Overall good prices for food and drink, some drinks can be a bit expensive but can't complain when a pint is around £3A nice range of food too you can even get a 4 patty burger if you wantThey do run events and I have heard they are quite popular with a good environmentOnly main downside is it can be quite a strange atmosphere when it is not busy

Excellent Food & Excellent ServiceGreat venue right by the Guildhall, with an excellent range of alcohol drinks. Soft drinks are not expensive and they know how to properly charge for an Orange Juice & Lemonade.Excellent service from Emma, with quick service & food arriving quickly. The menu is not small and a large range of meals.I love the hunters chips, bbq chicken melts and the chip shop platter.Highly recommend for a big meal and some nice drinks.

Excellent place, great value food, spacious seating, good selection of beers, nice large garden for the warmer days, and friendly staff. What more do you need? We will be back.

The food was great and reasonably priced but the pub itself is rather dark in a way and if were to watch the screens for sports, they are at rather inconvenient angles.

The Fleet is such a great spot in Portsmouth. The food is exceptionally priced (excellent value) and it's always really swiftly produced and tasty. This is probably my favourite pub in Hampshire. Location is top notch too. Also worth mentioning that the staff are always very friendly and sauces come out in bottles which is generous of them and better for the environment than sauce packets. Couldn't fault them if I tried so deserving of a review.

Not great service for lunch. Last week they had run out of subs by 12:10pm. This week waited over half an hour for a meat ball sub. The menu has a fixed price meal deal but they ask lots of questions to up your bill like a bigger drink or waffles instead of chips. List the upgrades on the menu, if I want them I'll ask for them. We'll be going back to The Dockyard round the corner, better food and service.
