Really nice old pub. Always something going on. Didn't try the food.

Good friendly pub with good range of food and some great meal deals. Food hot and freshly prepared and very tasty. Nice to sit on terrace or at front windows looking to sea. Lots of arranged entertainment on a regular basis.

We had a fantastic night in here last night, meeting up with friends. Great band playing, great atmosphere 👌 The downside with a rammed pub and only 2 toilet cubicles in the ladies meant I spent quite a bit of time queueing rather than enjoying the atmosphere. This is why I only gave 3 stars.

Had a function here, all but one staff (Ed) very unhelpful. No one spoke to the bride or groom until being told food was ready, came the next day to collect items left and not a single mention from management on how our reception went or even the time of day. Buffet was 2 hours late, pre purchased alcohol was withheld being told we had not paid for it. Being told music was too loud (in the form of bottles being broken but members of the party went to investigate and couldn't see anything). Bags had been attempted to be searched by staff members without guests consent (bags were being grabbed by staff from tables and rummaged through. Won't be coming back for functions or to use the typical pub.

Always a lovely place to sit in the sunshine. Just drinks a little bit pricey. But as they say, you pay for what you get 🥂🌞

We have had so many amazing roasts and other experiences at the Jolly Sailor. The team are so welcoming, accommodating and friendly for all our needs. We have young children and dogs and they try their hardest to make sure that we are well looked after. The food is absolutely amazing especially for me as a vegetarian and my sister as a vegan, we couldn’t ask for more.This place is perfect whether you’re looking for a fun night out with live entertainment or a perfect Sunday lunch.Thank you very muchFrom ‘Jess’ , Geoff and all

My wife and I booked a meal at 7.30pm on a Saturday night in January. We were told there would be a band playing that evening, but the music would not start until about 8.30pm. But we would be seated well away from the Stage. Upon arriving the pub was not as big as I imagined, and we were probably 12 meters from the stage. We thought we might leave after the meal. A member of staff told us that as we had arrived just before 7.30pm, it was still Happy Hour. Food and drink was all buy one get one free, if we ordered our first drinks quickly. So we had two bottles of wine for the price of one, and two meals for the price of one. The food was food and plentiful, arrived promptly, and was a bargain price ! The Jaspers were on stage at about 9pm. They played music from our Youth including Adam Ant and Tears for Fears. A great entertaining band. It was good to hear the music we liked played live. We stayed right to the end of their set at about 11pm. So if you want a nice quiet meal on a night when a band is playing, then this might not be the place for you. But if you want a meal with some music, check out the band first, and if they play the music you like, then maybe it it is.

Booked for the Christmas meal... which wasn't great.. not a great selection of vegetables.. roast potatoes were cold..The toilets & carpets were filthy..The bar staff were good... but they ran out of ice!!really needs some ££ spent on it

Cool pub. The venue downstairs was a little dark and cold but I guess it was a cellar! Upstairs was nice and had a live band which was a very pleasant surprise! Nice IPA on tap. Most of the staff were friendly and polite!

Absolutely shocking hotel . Spend your money elsewhere as so out dated . The pictures are misleading...... no way does this hotel meet regulations... tv didn't work the lights don't work you have to leave and enter through a seedy back passage.... shocking
