Good hearty British pub food. Pleasant staff and reasonable priced. Would definitely recommend.

Wife and I visited for lunch and thought the food and service were fantastic. Reasonably priced with large portions. Also the best chips I have ever tasted, a pleasant surprise. If you’re visiting the dockyard come here for a far better and more substantial lunch than the cafe at the dockyard.

My first visit for their delicious Sunday Carvery.Nice selection of vegetables with crispy sliced top potatoes, Beef, Turkey, Gammon and Pork.Beef a little tough but nothing a good cutting could not fix, extremely tasty.Lovely friendly staff who keep the place clean after each customer.A great team working in the kitchen creating delicious meals. The beef from the second photo with the rest of the first photo would make the best Roast ever 😋

Good value venue for a pint and a meal. Very friendly staff who really are attentive. Perfect position for visitors to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard as well as locals and workers from the Dockyard. I would recommend you try this venue for those reason. Well priced also.👍🏻

A great pub. Perfectly placed outside the gates of the Portsmouth historic dockyard. Serving food and great choice of beers. Just right for bite to eat and drink after visiting the attractions in the dockyard. Highly recommended

Never eaten or drank here before but as we were going to a charity event/show at the groundlings theatre Portsmouth just up the road it seemed a logical choice .What can I say.. Fantastic place , clean vibrant busy tad noisy at the bar end so if u want a more peaceful meal sit further down lolFood and service was really goodThey have a really nice carvery area too.Toilets could be a wee bit better ..sorry guys ..have to be honest n fair ;)Spoke with one of the governors .they also own a really nice pub called the anchor ⚓ on the way too selsey in sidlesham .so we will go there on one of our days out .

We were abit apprehensive about going to pubs and bars right by the docks as we thought they might be expensive but this pub was lovely. Its lovely inside and the staff were really friendly and polite. The food was good sized portions and again well priced. We stayed for a few drinks as the atmosphere ams view was lovely. We would definitely go again :)

Amazing place, it's old, but that give it a charm, staff was so friendly and lovely in not overwhelming way that me - an ambivert who have Asperger - didn't feel bad, but safety and welcomed.Food was very good. Duck burger a little too grease, but honestly, that's a duck, and it have to be prepared faster and then up heated in lard or will be tasteless brick. So that's my only problem, Squid was delightful and I tried some cherry/berry cider with ice and it was so refreshing!!!It so sad that it's far away from my holiday hotel, and on day of my return I have train in morning, cos I can definitely eat there everyday! Well done!
