The Sir Alec Rose in Portsmouth

A wonderfully situated Wetherspoons overlooking a beautiful harbour. The views from the upstairs restaurant and balcony are worh a visit alone. Then you have great food and drink at great price, along with great staff and service. And plenty of parking.. What's not to like!

Went here for an after dinner drink. It is a nice place to sit and have a laugh and few beers with friends. Has some great views of port solent and marina. Good atmosphere. Has bars upstairs and down. Would recommend for a night time drink 100%.

Food was very tasty and super cheap. Fast service, which is perfect if you're in a hurry. Ordered and payed online which was very simple. Only reason it wasn't 5 star worth was because of how busy it was and the noise because of it. It's just what you would expect from a Wetherspoons; good food at a great price, just not as top end as some other restaurants.

didnt ID us until 6 drinks and 3 shots in 😂 so lazy and so slow as well I had been previously after Spider-Man came out in the cinema and they were on point but whoever works there now as all staff seem to be different is ridiculous I was taking my own finished plates and drinks up to the bar because every time I called someone over they ignored me was really silly and I even asked why we were getting ID’d after we were drunk abs we only got a shrug.

A lovely marina setting for a no-frill, inexpensive bite to eat or a quick drink while visiting Port Solent. The staff are always friendly and the breakfast is really good value. The coffee (from the self service machines) is surprisingly good too.

Excellent experience! Been to many spoons but have really enjoyed the food at this one. Steak cooked well and generous portions. Ordered halloumi fries and received large chunks of halloumi, around 3x the amount I've got at other spoons. Friendly staff as well.

Lovely place with marina view from top terrace. Food very tasty, staff helpful and nice.

We ate here on Monday and it was really nice. We found a table and ordered via our phone. As you can see from the photos we had curry, pizza, jacket potato and burger so a wide range. We also had puddings, soft drinks and a coffee which I was too full to refill, even though I could have done. The food came in good time and was hot and we had no problems. The salad was nice and fresh and we all left having had a nice time. The staff were friendly and we will be returning. Thankyou.

Enjoyed a decent large breakfast with refillable Lavazza Hot Chocolate, Coffee also available.Really good value for money.Very attentive friendly staff.Derek the visiting Seagull likes any left overs.
