The White Horse Southsea in Portsmouth

Brilliant restaurant located in a very nice location at the edge of Southsea Common. The food and drink on offer is excellent and has been consistently well-served each time I've visited, and the beers they brew here are of great quality and taste excellent. The beach huts outside are very nice places to sit when the weather is nice too. I'd strongly recommend this if you're looking for a great, family-friendly place to eat in the area!

I accidentally messed them a around a lot with my table reservation for 9 people, Mike thought on his feet and shuffled things around to keep all customers happy and did the whole thing with a smile on his face and a firm handshake. An absolute credit to the business, you would think he was the sole owner and proprietor who built the place brick by brick with his bare hands.

Went there for the beer making experience with 2 friends and it was absolutely amazing. Olli was incredible, explaining everything and letting us participate. The beers are simply perfect and the food was good. Left there wasted and happy. Great day!

Absolutely fantastic cannot fault them had the Southern Fried Chicken Burger it was perfect best burger I have had in a long time. Followed by the Berry Eaton Mess it finished off a perfect meal. The service from the staff was excellent and they could not do enough for us. Well recommended to anyone 😀

Love this place! Great food and great service. The beer garden is outstanding, great for a balmy summer evening, lots of pretty lighting giving a tranquility that leaves you no option than to chillax!! Don't miss out on this one if you're in the area.Advisable to book if you want to enjoy the beach huts. Dogs welcome in the beer garden too.

Excellent bar/restaurant.Good range of beers including stout in the summer - yes it is a thing!!Excellent management of customers on a very busy afternoon.Popped in for a beer but succumbed to a light meal because passing plates looked so good. We were not disappointed.

Really nice place! The service is nice, they even have an online ordering system, where you can read and check pictures of everything and then pay online, like in a webshop. And the pictures are real.Also, the location and the atmosphere is nice. It is fancy.And the food is of good quality, they have their own brewery and the desserts! I even ate two of their Belgiam chocolate cake. It was crazy good.

Had an awesome day with head brewer Oli on the brewing experience day.We have been well looked after with breakfast, lunch and a constant supply of beer all day! Would definitely recommend for any small groups thinking of having a nice chilled day drinking and learning a few things with with their buddies.Roast dinners on Sunday are also awesome!!

Outdoor seating for a beautiful day, indoor seating when the weather turns. Old style music. Warm, ambient lighting. Clean tables and floors. Comfy seating. All around great atmosphere.They offer 3 small plates or starters for 15 pound. There are 10, count it, 10! vegetarian options in the starter menu alone. The spicy Buffalo is as hot as you’d hope, the falafels are soft and delicious, and the pretzel with cheese is my favorite!You can scan and order from your phone. So easy, especially since they offer free wifi. Fast, friendly service.There seems to be a brewery tour available so definitely check that out.There doesn’t seem to be tap water on the online menu, but you can always go to the bar and ask.Recommendation: 10/10. Such a great place!

Extremely friendly, efficient and professional staff, really felt welcomed and comfortable. Beach huts are so cute and are equipped with heaters too - perfect locatio to enjoy dinner or drinks with friends. Beer choice is very wide and include both local and foreign beers. Food tastes fresh and they have quite a good range of options from classic pub food to proper restaurant mains. Overall very much recommended!!
