Just been for a breakfast here. The potato with cheese dish was well overcooked and burnt. The eggs were so overcooked there was no yolk left. That's just a normal breakfast from here..It's always a gamble. Sometimes it's nice and other times like today was terrible. When I've decided that I have finished trying to eat my breakfast I'm sitting here observing. 5 members of staff are standing talking behind the till and every time a customer asks or says anything, all 5 lift their heads and look at them. How uncomfortable for that customer and everybody else like myself observing. To top it all off, they go off in their twos and all you can hear is them talking about each other and new members of staff and how they're going to loose shifts. What a nice place to have your breakfast? More training needs to be given on customer skills and where certain conversations take place. This is my opinion from today.

Went for breakfast today. Slow waiting for food to come out to be served by ourselves. By the time got there, the bacon was undercooked, beans cold, eggs hard, mushrooms undercooked. Sausages were good though! Then had to wait for toast at the other end of the restaurant allowing food to become stale in the meantime. Poorly laid out. Can get a better breakfast from Morrisons or something. Definitely not value for money and I would not recommend at all. Very disappointing and for Mother's Day felt sorry for the Mother who I was with because it was meant to be for her. Lost my custom

Evening visit. Pretty busy but very tasty roast dinner and yummy crumble pudding for 2 of us.Small issue was a customer had accidentally dropped all their dinner just before we went up to get our food. Was cleared up, but floor was still pretty slippy with grease afterGood, helpful service tho. Esp with the extra custard needed!!!

Had a really impressive experience here. Carvery obviously but a very high quality meal. Proper roast potatoes and a choice of five roasts. Extremely good service throughout. And the bill at the finish was less than expected! Overall highly recommended.

I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service here. My friend and I arrived little after 8:30pm for a staff member to then tell us that you have stopped serving food and the kitchen is closed. Firstly your advertisement online shows you are open until 11pm and There was nothing to state otherwise, Secondly all staff members were going through the carvery getting food for themselves meaning you could of easily let two paying customers come in and chose not to. We also told you we had spoke to you over the phone and was told there was no need to book as you were fairly quiet so if you were planning to close the kitchen early you had this opportunity to inform us then before we bothered wasting time and petrol to come to you. I am unbelievably disappointed and won’t be returning in the future.

Just received my order and disappointed to find no pigs in blankets that I had paid for. This is the second time I've used them and the same happened last time. When you consider that they charge £2.99 for them it's a bit of a rip-off. Apart from that the food was good. I would suggest not ordering pigs in blankets at all.

Can't fault the Toby Carvery at Hilsea. Stopped in to take advantage of the Breakfast Buffet.Friendly welcome on entering and plenty of space to sit.Food was fresh and plenty, a particularly good selection.Loved the sausages and eggs, all washed down with a bottomless cup of tea.Easy to over indulge, but a treat every now and then.Great customer service 👏
