Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Portsmouth

Chose this place because we wanted cocktails with lunch and it was the first place we came to that didn't need reservation. The vibe was sort of soft American, not in your face like some places. Music but not loud, people able to talk at normal level. We were told at the door that there was a 30 minute wait for food. We were seated with menus which seemed to have a lot of options, including vegan and kids. We ordered simple food, mostly chips related and chicken strips and dips. That order took nearly an hour to come, by which time I had had enough of the extremely uncomfortable wooden chair. Now I don't mind waiting for my food as long as its hot and well prepared when it arrives. This wasn't any of those things. The chips were so overcooked they were like twiglets and also tepid. The chicken was ok but we didn't get the dips we ordered, unless they serve the mildest hot sauce in the world! I wasn't allowed to send anything back, mainly because we didn't want to wait another hour for edible chips. And also because my girls get embarrassed! So we ate and left and never to return.

If you like burgers then this is the place to be. Set within gunwharf in Portsmouth.The burger menu has a good choice of meat, beef , chicken and fish burgers. Vegetarian and vegan burgers are also available.The meal itself was very tasty.service was fast and efficient. Perfect place to be after going shopping or before going to the cinema.Highly recommended.

Good large milkshake, served in proper metal milkshake cup. Lots of ice cream headaches. Good service. Direct view of Spinnaker Tower. They even served us before opening due to a birthday.

Been 3 times in the last 2 weeks! Tried different burgers and dirty fries and cannot choose a definite favourite out of them! I love the styling of the place, the staff are friendly and don't mind answering questions on recommendations etc. Went for the lunch deal today and rate it totally worth the money. Will definitely be paying another visit.

My first time Eating at a Hub box location as I was after a chicken burger.The burger I had chosen was the BBQ CHICK which was tasty and well cooked. Aswell to eat I have chosen skin on fries and chicken strips which were crispy and crunchy.The wait time for food was not Very long and the staff are polite and helpful.From my experience I enjoyed myself and would Return again in the future.What I would like to see changed from the menu is burger cheese removed and use Cheddar cheese.

We were here twice during our stay in Portsmouth. Their menu is great for people with gluten intolerance. Loved their food and really enjoyed our stay. Staff were great and attentive. :)

1st time visiting here and we will be coming back ! What a great find. Burger selection and quality was arguably the best we have had/seen. Choice of sides, dirty fries etc were great. Bar offers everything including cocktails. All reasonably priced but worth every penny.

Lovely welcoming place to eat , not crowded and over busy like the other places we past .Helpful polite staff, and the food was extremely delicious.Well priced and we left full satisfied and shall definitely be returning again.Thank you Hub Box Portsmouth.

Thought we would try this place, great location with sea views and the spinnaker Tower ,The restaurant was bright and clean , nice decor and friendly staff.Order one veggie and one meat burger over lunch time , midweek.Food arrived in good time , nothing special and nothing like the photos .And nearly £20 with chips each , needed to be something special but sadly wasn’t , and what was even more annoying, the waiter didn’t mention the lunchtime special deals at £9:95 , nothing on the menu , we saw the sign on the way out !Rude !

Nice place with modern decor and friendly staff. Food was good, I had a fried chicken burger which was crispy and moist. Chips were well seasoned. Also had side of mac and cheese, that was a little bit gluey and the pasta wasn't that nice which was a shame.There was a good selection of different beers, I had a Tiny Rebel which was nice. I asked to taste two of them and it wasn't a problem Matthew looked after us and he was very friendly and helpful and offered advice on the beers.
