Back Of Beyond in Reading

I love the app, it's super cheap and this is a much nicer pub than the one at the other end of town. Yes it gets rammed at the weekend, but that is for obvious reasons...you can't get 2 drinks for less than 7 pounds in many places in Reading! Staff are polite and the food was served quickly and politely as well. Large toilets with mirrors, slightly on the edge of town. I always come here if I can.

Excellent service and unfortunately for us this evening they had a major water leak. The manager kept us well informed and allowed us to continue to drink up our drinks. Lucky for us we just brought a round. We planned to eat but couldn't tonight so unable to give a review on the food. However we have never had a bad meal there.Hope your back up and running soon and see you again for that meal

As Wetherspoons go this one is above average. A good garden area and a good range of beers on my visit. Downstairs toilets are a real bonus

Typical Wetherspoons pub. Reasonable/cheap prices and no nonsense options. Fast and easy to order at the bar or via App. Plenty of food and drink choices. Table was a bit messy as hadn't been cleaned after last customer. However the customer had made quite a lot of mess, so not staff at fault just inconsiderate customers.

Large pub which was kept clean and tidy, with friendly staff members and the usual low prices for food and drink. Good selection of real ales and comfortable environment. Felt sorry for staff member who IDed a customer and got lots of verbal abuse, but they remained professional. Nicely managed pub.

Meet up here every 3 months or so with friends, always a good night out. Food isn't Michelin starred but is fine. The drinks are well priced. Pub was clean and tidy.

Ordered 2 meals and 2 drinks on the same order on the app. One drink arrived after around 2 minutes.25 minutes later the food arrived and one of the drinks still hadn’t so I asked the lady behind the bar if it had been missed off the order if I can order another?I was then angrily asked can you see anyone else working behind the bar?At 3pm when there was no other customers at the bar!Horrific service.No wonder people are going elsewhere.Bland food and appalling customer service.We won’t be returning.

Good beer. Service was reasonable, unless you dare to inconvenience them by being present 15 minutes after last orders, in which case you get very aggressive bar staff getting shirty. Maybe this is normal but I’m not impressed to get heavy-handed staff after contributing good money to their takings. The difference between a managed pub and one owned by someone who cares about the long term effect of treating customers badly.

We were pleasantly surprised by the very low prices and the quantity and quality of food they served us, with minimal wait. Very spacious and nicely decorated. We're definitely going back again.

Traditional England Bar. Good place for you to gathering with friends. Food is average. The portion is big with reasonable price. The garden is closed for refurbishment works till 10th November.
