The food is really good. We go there often over the past year and we tried several dishes, all tasted delicious. Good value for money. There is a big variety in the menu

Make breads from scratch, which is amazing. The mixed grill platter was amazing. But ambience is not so great and they have only 1 lady who is taking orders, serving, cleaning, washing and a lot more. Not fair. Hence the low rating.

Very tasty authentic Lebanese food.

Ordered through deliveroo. Rice was overcooked and soaking in water. In all honesty, the manager was amazing. He just wanted me to be happy and sorted everything out. Even rang deliveroo and got them to send another batch. The rice was still overcooked but was definitely less soggy. Will probably not order the ozy lamb again and probably should have settled with a full refund. But 5 stars to the manager. He was amazing.

Nice place to eat out and halal food, clean, reasonable prices and organised. The personnel is friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like a good place to eat.

It is about the only authentic Lebanese food in Reading! Ordered mixed grilled & appetizers (small mixed mazza that has humus, mutabal, babaghanoug, 2 grape leaves, 2 falafel - see photos) and mixed grill (kebab, chicken & meat tikka) with chips (French fries). The taste & spices were true to my expectations coming from Oman where the lebanese food is similar.The price was very reasonable for what you get & compared to others in town.The place is clean and has inside washrooms. Sometimes it can get crowded but the food arrived quickly in our case. Highly recommended if you are visiting Reading, and it is w walking distance from Broad Street.

First time going to The Bakery, place is nice and clean and a good selection of food and teas. Located in a quiet place of Reading, but still easily enough to find and the place does halal food. Worth a visit, as I was travelling for work purposes and was a good find on a evening out.

I booked a table online and they had no record of my booking. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breads there and hummus were great, would definitely recommend those. The mains I found to be very bland, the tomato sauce with the lamb dish just tasted of tinned tomatoes and was luke warm, also there was not a lot of lamb in the dish.

Had high hopes having read the reviews but was disappointed to be honest. Had the mix grill which could’ve been more ‘mixed’. The meat was dry and the food didn’t feel freshly cooked, more reheated. There was a bit of confusion with the order which had been dealt with but very slowly. Other than that, service was great and the place is clean. The menus is quite authentic which seems to attract locals but don’t think I’ll be visiting again any time soon

Was in Reading for the day. Was looking for somewhere nice to dine and came across this. Had good reviews online so I suggested to check this out.If I’m honest didn’t really enjoy the food. Was really disappointed.We had the chicken soup, calamari and liver for starters.The chicken soup lacked seasoning- I had to add salt for it to taste a little better.Calamari- was ok just friend calamari rings, nothing special.Liver- tasted really sweet, realises afterwards it had pomegranate juice in it. It didn’t work well for us.Mains- I took the mixed grill and my partner took the lamb shank and rice.The mixed grill meat was very overcooked and didn’t have much flavour. It was a pretty dry I would say. Not much variety to call it ‘mixed grill’They gave the mixed grill first and brought the lamb shank after 15mins later.The lamb shank was really good and the only thing we enjoyed at this restaurant.Overall I wouldn’t go to dine here again.
