After getting home late from Reading Festival, I left my room with my key card in hand to use the shared kitchen area. After returning to my room, the key card had stopped working and I couldn't get in! As the 'hotel' had no reception, I tried phoning the mobile number I was given with no answer and therefore I couldn't back in the room I had a had paid over £80 a night for. Luckily my friends were also staying in the same hotel so I was able to sleep on their floor (with no matress) although it was a terrible night sleep. My friends very kindly gave up their pillows/blankets meaning they also slept badly. The room was certainly not big enough for 4 adults and was extremely cramped.Awful experiance and we certainly won't be returning.

good enough for business travel. breakfast is served at a cafe on the ground floor which is also nice.

It’s so poor this place - there were blood stains on the bedsheets cover, see picture. The bed in general was so uncomfortable. There is huge disconnect between the money they charge for a room and the quality they offer! Giving them 2** only because there was a kind guy that accidentally happened to be there & helped me with my suitcase up.

Location, location, location. This is the best feature of this B&B above a cafe in the centre of Reading a stone's throw from the station and the central shopping area.Downside is nobody is onsite after 3pm when the cafe closes. The triple room was a bit small.

This hotel was a welcome little surprise!Ok, its not the Ritz Carlton but its clean, warm, quiet and one minute walk from the train station and nightlife. There is no reception desk, no staff - nothing really. You arrive (24/7), call a number and get the code to the outdoor safe that has your key, instructions and WiFi code.Strangely I liked this. No tedious check in lines, faffing about or paying extra for anything. The complimentary breakfast is ENORMOUS, delicious and served in the cafe below the hotel. The previous reviewer complained the sausages are too big - nobody is forcing it on you, they do ask what you'd like!So that I'm clear, there is nobody to meet and great you, no bar, no room service (except daily housekeeping of course!) and no frills. It suits only those who want only want a good nights sleep in a comfortable room one minute from the train and the heart of the city.I confident you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Interesting little B&B (definitely NOT a hotel, as another reviewer described it). Staff in the café below, where you check-in and have your breakfast, are very friendly and obliging. Bear in mind the café isn't open Sunday, so they only provide a takeaway breakfast then. Don't order a toasted panini - I didn't think it through! Stick to fruit, maybe a sandwich. Basic room; tea & instant coffee, as standard. You'll need high quality earplugs if in room 22 or 23, where the noise from Walkabout is loud, intrusive and goes on till at least 3am.

Stayed here last night and would not stay again! Breakfast was included, but went down to get breakfast and the cafe is closed!! No covers on the duvet! Very very loud all night due to the clubs around till gone 5am !! No tea bags in the room just coffee and only 1 little milk pot! Room stank of smoke and owner didn’t even say hello when we walked in! Very rude people and no help at all! Avoid

The lunch time baguette was awful. The sausage was rock hard and gristly at the end and totally inedible. I will not be going back there ever.

Really good breakfast baguette. Ordered on a Saturday morning and got a baguette for £4.20. Two bacon, two eggs and a long sausage. Couldn't say that the sausage was high quality - more like a hot dog. But pretty good for the price. Served hot!

This B&B is in the town centre. It's ideal for people traveling with public transport because it's very close to the central station (a detailed route description was included in the booking confirmation email). However parking in the Reading town centre is very expensive. The B&B is close to a pub and on a Friday night the streets are noisy with music + (drunk) people. We were able to sleep though :-) Clean room & bathroom + good shower. We had no WiFi reception in our room, but it was working ok in the hall way. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.
