Oishi in Reading

Ingredients were good quality but the flavours weren't great. The ramen and tempura were bland, the squid was really tough, and the wings were ok but very salty. Some issues with delivery too: ramen had leaked in the bag, and the tempura and squid were soggy. Not worth the high prices.

Great sushi, amazing service. A little hidden gem!!

Got a mix of sushi and sashimi delivered, plus some side dishes. Miso soup was improperly packaged and had partially spilled inside the bag, not a great start. Wakame salad was decent; so was the quality of some of the fish, but some was questionable. Tamago nigiri was unpleasant, the omelette did not taste fresh at all. Worst, the rice was really overcooked, soft and mushy so none of the sushi was enjoyable. Was hopeful based on the reviews, but turned out to be yet another Reading sushi place that can't cook rice properly. It's not good enough at these prices.

Ordered for collection so haven’t eat in yet due to the pandemic. But taste, very good. Especially the salmon dish + its sauce. Yummy

Love this little unassuming sushi/ Japanese soul food place. Sad they still can't have dine in...but got to try their takeaway and quality is still top notch. Dont understand the 1 star reviews...must be some envious competitors. We go out of our way to get our Japanese food fix...their unagi is so good and hope they weather this year.

Great food! Probably the best sushi i have ever had! Superb setting, simple and clean. Raman bowls were amazing. Reasonably priced... But honestly i have to say it again... The best sushi I have ever had! Warm and soft, favourful and satisfying! Can't wait to go again! Great service too!

This was my third visit of the place and it still hasn’t changed the impression I had before - very neat sushi crafts to deliciously taste and enjoy. Quick and polite service, nice interior. Green tea unlimited for £2.00 only. Reasonable prices for a fairly classy experience. For the location it’s a definitely treasure!

Lovely restaurant, very tasty food for a great price and good service. I can recommend the dragon roll with eel - had to order a second one!

We have just ordered a Katsu Curry and Sashimi box to be delivered. The original order says that it would take 1.5 hrs to be delivered but it ended up only taking around 1 hr. Unfortunately the cheap polystyrene container that the Katsu Curry comes in had broken causing the whole thing to leak out into the bag. We called the restaurant to tell them about what had happened to which they offered to send us out a new curry sauce but we would have to wait for the delivery driver to return. Instead of opting to wait potentially another hour and not wanting the chicken and rice to go cold, I decided to go and collect it for myself. This was pointless as by the time I got back, the chicken and rice had gone cold. I'm very disappointed that we had paid £1 for delivery and had to go to the restaurant to collect the curry sauce. It would have been nice to have been offered the delivery fee back or better yet, fresh chicken and rice. The katsu chicken (despite being cold) was nice, the sashimi I felt was overpriced.

Delicious food. Very reasonable prices. Good staff. Best Japanese I've had in Reading!
