Qumin in Reading

You have to try this place, it’s the best, service and food. Can’t say anything more but they are amazing.

Been going to the Qumin for years and it has always been good.

We’ve been regular customers for years, we have special dietary needs that are rarely handled so well! We’ll be ordering from here long into the future. Recommend the veggie dansak!

27/11/2021 had the best meal ever flavours were amazing.

We have ordered many times from Qumin and never had any issues with the quality of the food. However, tonight (Saturday) we had a terrible experience; not only due to the appalling quality of the food but also the response of Qumin when we reported the issue to them.We ordered a prawn curry for our daughter. The "prawns" were not prawns at all; they were very tiny (less than 10mm in size) shrimps. If there is a classification for anything tinier than a shrimp, that would be suitable in this case. To add to the issue, they looked uncooked (transparent)- as though they had been taken out of a freezer and put in to the curry sauce. We immediately phoned Qumin to report the issue. We were told that the "prawns" were "part steamed". When I said that the shrimps looked raw, I was told that they had never had a complaint in 20 years. They also denied that what they sold as "prawns" were actually shrimps.We then drove up to Qumin with the dish to show them the "prawns", The lady that we spoke to took the tray to the kitchen, and we heard her say "these don't look like our shrimps, do they", and then "so shall I just throw the whole lot away". She then proceeded to deny that the dish was sub-standard, saying that she had purchased the "prawns" herself that day.There was no acknowledgement from them that the quality of the food was not acceptable; in fact, it felt as though they were trying to say that we had "planted" sub-standard shrimps in the dish. We have better things to do with our Saturday evening than, after ordering a paying for a curry, to go and purchase some tiny shrimps, cook them up, just to get a refund.Very disappointing - Offering a refund was not the point here. They do not deserve to have loyal repeat customers when they treat them like that.

Food is great, would highly recommend the meal for 2! Delivery times could be improved.

Tried several Indian restaurants in Reading and been disappointed everytime. I was very happy to find Qumin. We had chicken Dhansak and saag aloo. Both were very tasty, although I'd make the dhansak just slightly less hot. I'll definitely try more dishes in the (near) future!
