Great pies! Nice portions. The space is very dated , but i guess it gives a bit of charm to the place.

I'm from the north and I approve of this pie shop! This is the second time we've been here and it's soooo good. You can get a huge range of takeaway pies as well as an extensive choice to eat in. There are loads of tables and a licenced bar with Proper Job, 6X, Adnams Southwold, Peroni, Beck's and Stowford cider on draught, as well as pots of tea on offer. So far we've tried the steak and stilton, venison and wild boar and the Five Nations pies, plus the cheese and onion quiche, all of which have been divine. And they do cauliflower cheese. It's a very filling meal, you won't go away hungry! The staff are all lovely too - great service, food comes quickly and is piping hot. If you like pies and find yourself in Reading, this place is a must. It's tucked away towards the edge of town - seek it out and fill your belly with delicious pie goodness.

Old fashioned restaurant serving really good pies.

Simple but good food. No frills. Super friendly staff, one of them having worked there for 43 years since its opening! A heritage itself worth visiting!

Yum! Still making tasty and great value pies. Take away only at the moment but that doesn’t matter when they taste so good. What a cracking range of flavours, venison and wild boar helped make a warming lunch. Will have to go back when the restaurant reopens to get the full experience. Definitely a hidden gem in Reading worth a go in these winter months to have some hearty grub at a price that is such good value for money. Keep up the good work.

Love this place!! Highly recommend. I tend to get a couple of pies to go for dinner and heat them up at home. Love the special occasion pies like the 6 Nations Pie and the Anniversary Pie! There’s a great range of choice. I’ll be back again soon.

Quirky and authentic pie restaurant. Little booths in the main bar or tables out back. A great piece of history preserved for the modern day. A few decent ales on the bar to boot. Don't let the shop front fool you behind it is a cosy little restaurant. Fab!

Great pies, wide variety of flavours from traditional British to a bit more exotic. All sound incredible though. Solid portions, enough to fill you up for the rest of the night. Combined with great beer and very traditional British puddings. I had the sticky toffee pudding with custard and it was absolutely to die for! Definitely coming back to try a lot more on the menu
