We had a lovely family meal and were very well looked after by Bonnie who was attentive and cheerful. The food was very enjoyable too and was good value for money. This was our first meeting since Christmas so thanks to Bonnie for making it an enjoyable experience for us.

Big, busy, decent beer, good seeing and some good food. Sadly, their supposedly 28-day aged rump steak had a taste, and especially a texture, that implied it hadn't been aged at all; bland and very chewy.

Perhaps 4 stars, but my family enjoy coming here, and it is reasonable value for generally good quality food (you can also use Tesco vouchers, food only).Just tried the brunch ... tasty, but the Squashed Avocado with Poached Egg was stone cold. One sausage is a bit tight in the English. Too much fat on the bacon for me, and I would appreciate more of the (small) mushrooms, which also went cold quickly.

Lovely food as always, servers are attentive and very friendly, always have a good time there. Menu has something for everyone and every taste. Would definitely recommend.

Visited on 24th Feb 2022, and absolutely loved it.The food was OUTSTANDING, and arrived super quickly. Our waitress (Megan) was really friendly and helpful.Overall, a great experience at The Griffin, so will be visiting more often!

This is a gem of a find. We had a large family birthday celebration and the staff (Lucy and Lucian, and all the ones hidden in the kitchen beavering away to produce our food!) made the whole experience very enjoyable and special. They were so helpful & cheerful, attentive and efficient. The food was very good value, well presented and tasty, with a very wide choice with something for everyone. Each dish was cooked correctly (crisp chips & deep fried items, the steaks and venison medallions cooked just right)And they take Tescos vouchers! The place was packed from 12.30pm through to 2.30pm on this Saturday. Make sure you book! They have a car park, but you must put in your registration at the bar. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thanks guys!

The guy serving us, was great, rally friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Portion sizes remain excellent (i.e. large enough for hungry runners). In addition the little cabins with heaters are good for the Covid-nervous.Only, I wish they would freshen up the menu a bit, especially with an additional Vegan option or two, however, I expect (as a chain) that would be the remit of head office, plus at least they have some options. So 4/5 👍

We used to be regulars at the Griff and loved it - most of the time. We've moved away, however, we pop by when we can. Two bad experiences - one where we had a 'bad glass of wine' and we were made to feel really bad about it, but it was obviously off, and we paid for a replacement so we really didn't deserve the attitude, and then just recently a £60 parking fine because we entered the Griff and couldn't park as it was full, so we waited about 15mins but gave up and parked elsewhere. Much as the food is good and location etc, we won't be in a hurry to go back now. Please be careful entering the car park!

Really nice food and friendly staff. Nice that they had the Christmas menu alongside the normal menu too.I read quite a few reviews before I went which said about having to pay to park. You don’t. You do need to register your number plate inside the pub though or you will get a ticket. But it’s free which is great!

Had dinner today, which was fab from beginning till the end. Big terrace with heaters and lovely atmosphere. Even after 630pm you have sun! There is a car park for customers too. We didn't have reservation and they were fully booked, still manager organised kindly table for us. Very quick service and friendly staff who checked on us throughout the evening. Food was delicious and fresh. Definitely recomend sea bass with scallops and chicken pie. Prices were pretty good too. Definitely would come back once be back in Reading.Atmosphere:4Service:5Food:5
