Nice place, good atmosphere.Food was a bit cold when it arrived (not freezing, but not pipping hot), but was tasty. (We had beef roast and pork roast)The kid's cod was a bit greasy.Service a bit slow, but it was nice not to be rushed.Puddings were a decent size and really tasty. All in all a good time had.

Very disappointed today, especially for what was meant to be a happy Mother’s Day celebration.Arrived at 17:00 and seated promptly but then waited 20 minutes before we had to call for attention to order.Waited over an hour and 15 minutes before the starter came and a further 45 minutes for the main (all of which we ordered together). Throughout this, one particular member of staff was particularly dismissive. She had seemingly had a tough day but was huffing and puffing at every opportunity and at one point gave some children a particularly disgusting look.We told the staff we could not wait any longer after being in the restaurant for 3 hours and at that point having waited for another 30 minutes since ordering desserts. We settled up without our desserts. An incredibly disappointing end to what should have been a nice Mother’s Day meal.It will be a long time before we consider returning to this restaurant. One that we once held in such high esteem.

Nice food, very tasty mash and Yorkshire pudding, but by 3pm they'd run out of half the meats for Sunday roast! No greens with the roast which I found a bit disappointing. The sticky toffee pudding is quite small and very very sweet but comes with vanilla ice cream

The meal was to celebrate Valentines with my partner. The meal was good and enjoyable. However, at home I noticed that we were charged a 10% service charge, of which should have been my choice. I recall on the advert this should only be charged when 4 to 6 people are having a meal.

I wanted somewhere warm and comfortable and this is mostly what the Caversham Rose offers. On my arrival, there was a roaring log fire, perfect, but it got left to almost burn down to ash before being looked after.I only had a coffee and a small lager and spent a few hours in a comfortable high back armchair, perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon.

I'm really gutted to leave a not so good review but I felt really disappointed today. This pub is our favourite, we've always had amazing food and an excellent service. It's also dog-friendly which for us is really important. Today though, the service was not really good. Our food came late and cold. My roast beef had literally 3 potatoes and some leeks as vegetables. The youngsters at the bar were really not interested in clients and did not check on us a single time. They were busy laughing between them. Has management changed I wonder?

Today we returned to this pub after several good lunches. Unfortunately something was very different and both my wife and I were surprised. Food was clearly below the usual standard, mains were both warmish and not hot and vegetables non existent. Quite disappointing...

We hired the function room for a birthday party and I can honestly say that from start to finish the whole experience was fantastic.Jessica looked after me and our party incredibly, and made the whole experience completely hassle free. She couldn't be friendlier or do enough to help. In fact, the whole team on the evening were great.Thank you so, so much guys.I would 100% recommend and will definitely be back.Thank you all again!
