The Slug and Lettuce in Reading

It was busy. Ordered food (regal fries) but was not told how long. After 45 mins our portion of regal fries came out and it was a joke. We queried the description as it states njuda sausage and Italian cheese on chips. What we got was a small portion of dried chips, a spattering of sauce and a few bits of cheese. We we spoke to a person there, they didn't know what njuda was- they mentioned that they get the packs in from a supplier. They refunded the meal. It was a disappointment. The drinks were ok.

Gets very loud, no social distancing, seated near door and cold draft kept coming through. Food is average, good salmon portion with Thai curry.

I took my mum here on mothers day for afternoon tea and it was absolutely stunning!! The food layout was incredible and tasted heavenly! Very friendly and helpful staff all greeting us with smiles and positivity. Then came for breakfast, Would highly recommend the American style pancakes it was delicious. Again, very friendly staff. Overall I would recommend S&L to anyone who asked about it, am definitely coming back again!!!

Amazing Visit we had last night.On a Saturday Night at 9pm we know we had taken a chance as we had not booked but the door team did their best to help us get a seat.We met the manager and he was able to get us sat down.The Door staff were very friendly very helpful and had a good joke with us as we waited. I do have to say you do have very smartly dressed doorman, I have not seen a doorman in a waistcoat before so nice touch.The Manager who sat us down was very friendly and very helpful he made us feel very welcome.The atmosphere was brilliant the drinks were however a little bit slow to come but seeing how busy you were that's understandable.The female staff member was very apologetic about the delay.As we had not booked we can not complain.We would come again tho i think we might book next time.Thank you to the door team, the manager and all the staff who got us a table and made our experience a brilliant night.We will see you again soon :).

Really nice cocktails, and the staff we so friendly. Haven't had that experience much in a bar before. A lady was training another girl, she was very welcoming! Good first visit to Reading.

Booked bottomless brunch between 4-6pm, busiest visit I have had and been on several occasions previously. Tom was great & ensured we were not waiting too long for next drink. Would be trying an slightly earlier slot in the future to see if less busy but definitely coming back!

They've done this bar up recently and the decor is lovely. Nice on a week night for cocktails, if you don't mind that they're often very sugary etc. Classic chain cocktail bar, basically.Good drinks deals, not so sure on the food as I've not ordered from here since its been renovated.

Our wonderful and lovely server, Tara was maybe even better company than the friends I was with! Absolutely lovely person, made us feel so welcome and comfortable! Definitely will come again (as long as she's there to greet us with her beautiful smile 😁)

A wonderful calm from the chaos of Christmas shopping. The staff were superb, couldn’t do more for us. Food was lovely and the accompanying wine just what one needed. Thumbs up guys! You’ve nailed this and made the day so much nicer. Will be back and will bring more friends!

Awesome experience here.Very friendly waiting and bar staff.. couldn't do enough for us.. Great cocktails. Good atmosphere.Ada was extremely helpful the following morning when we returned for breakfast..Breakfast was very good poached eggs were perfectly cooked.Clean and covid friendly all round.Doormen (both of them) need a mention as they were very helpful albeit not very knowledgeable about what chicken shops were open in the early hours still very funny.
