Workhouse Coffee Company in Reading

This has been my go-to coffee spot every time I visit reading. Amazing coffee and amazing staff. Haven't tried the food there, but if the coffee is anything to go by, it will not disappoint. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have beautiful coffee!

Lovely employees who ask all the right questions to get you the right coffee for you, plus a wide range of beans (the filtered Brazil is a personal favourite). Very homely and non-pretentious atmosphere - perfect for sitting-in alone or with others. Thank you!

I love their staff! Been wanting to try this place and finally! They are so welcoming! And the ambience was so different inside. You’ll be seeing a lot of bean bags? If I’m not mistaken. And also the coffee…magnifico!!! I was so sleepy just before and it was a relief getting a coffee here! This place needs more attention!!!!!I’ll be back for the cakes! Oh and coffee again too!

Great service from the friendly staff, and absolutely incredible coffee. A selection of beans and brew methods give you all the choice you want and if you aren't sure then the staff are knowledgeable and willing to help you out. When my coffee was being made there was a minor issue with the grinder which meant the espresso shot wasn't optimal and as such it wasn't served to me and another was made. This knowledge of the machines and what goes into making an espresso is what puts workhouse coffee way ahead of the "press to make" coffee shops.

The place is very nice it had an oldy worldy look the building itself is old which brings some history which is carried through with the decor. The staff were soo nice the lady at the tills was very helpful and brought our food to us. The coffee and hot chocolate was really nice one of the best coffees ever had! The food was extremely nice and cut up into bite sized pieces which was helpful. The smell when you first come in is very nice you can smell and see loads of different coffees from different countries. Overall 10/10 experience!

The smell when you come in is as sweet as when you open up that fresh bag of coffee beans, and you inhale a long whiff of it, wanting to enjoy it forever. Their coffee is balanced and clean on the pallet.There are little nooks to sit alone or with others, sipping on hot coffee, and there are windows so you can look at the ones coming and going. It’s a beautiful and warm place to just think and observe.

The coffee here is the best in town by a mile - properly roasted, expertly made. Nowhere else even come close.. Customer service excellent, you can tell each member of staff understands what goes into making a good coffee. Great hot drinks made at the cafe, and can also recommend buying your weekly bag of beans/ground coffee from here too!

One of us happened upon Workhouse Coffee while wandering about Reading on a lazy Sunday. Popped in on a whim to enjoy a very nice Americano with a sliceof delicious blueberry tart.Contrary to some reviews here the customer service was prompt, attentive and very friendly. The relaxed vibe and eclectic interior is also very appealing.Definitely recommend.

Some of the best crafted coffees in Reading, paired with a great service. The espresso is my favourite here, the chocolate orange cake is to die for, and my wife is a fan of their hand crafted granola bars.
