Service was great! Our server called herself nanny mcVee to the children and was so attentive!! The lady doing the carvery was so friendly, couldn’t do enough, and even brought me over some peas.Food was lovely!! First carvery I’ve had where the beef isn’t chewy and fatty.Great value too, we were a party of 11, with no booking and they were so accommodating! Thank you guys, we’ll be back for sure!

Nice veggie carvery, but limited to one visit and to only one Yorkshire pudding! Biggest problem is that it's all served lukewarm. Otherwise perfectly fine.edit: we didn't get the small vegetarian plates, I specifically asked for more than one Yorkshire but was told the ration is one each, and the food just isn't hot enough. What are you going to do if we'd complained, heat it all up while we wait?

Really friendly staff. Great kids' play area, and lovely carvery which we had in the play area making it nice so we didn't have to leave (it wasn't too busy). The staff were brilliant! This is my reason for posting a review. A young lady in the play area couldn't have been nicer and the carvery chef and bar staff (both ladies) helped the children with their meals and even help carry them through. We haven't been before and were so impressed by the helpfulness.

Nice big spacious pub. Never been too busy during pandemic so feel at ease visiting. Carvery is always decent and Green King IPA cask ale available.

We took our two children to the soft play and then we planned to have a meal there. Soft play was busy, one of the rules is don't bring knifes or sharp objects in...found that disturbing, surely its commonsense. We was in there for half hour before we decided to leave, this was because I fell and have hurt my ribs and my daughter has sustained two quite deep scratches to her head. I can only assume she has done this by something sharp in the ball pit. Staff did look for anything sharp but ball pit remained open, children still going in and out, wasn't offered a refund and staff gave me a wet tissue for my daughters head. They were more interested in me completing their accident report form which is fine but my daughter is only 1. The place is old and the customers in there were.....well not great. Have tried to get in contact with the premises since and no reply. I am looking to take this further.

The pub was clean and tidy, plenty of sanitisation stations. Atmosphere was amazing, staff very helpful and their interaction was amazing, they went that extra mile. Had an exceptional meal and it was fantastic value for money. Will definitely be back next time I'm down from Newcastle.

We enjoyed a lovely carvery here to celebrate my sister's birthday this week. The staff were very attentive and had noticed birthday cards on the table. After we had finished our meal they appeared with a muffin with a lit candle in it while singing Happy Birthday. The food was lovely. Thank you to all who served us & made it special for my sister. Nice touch, well done

Saturday and Sunday carvery is absolutely lovely. Staff are really friendly and always happy to help with any requirements you have or need. Really great value

We had the Christmas Day festive meal, Sarah and all the staff went above and beyond to facilitate a great experience, the very good value meal was excellent and the waitress service was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, even organising the seating and personal attention required by disabled guest. We were most impressed, lovely friendly and accommodating staff. Exceeded all expectations! Thank you to all the team, much appreciated!!

A lovely place to visit with the family, nice food, environment and staff. Is hard to find places to go with small active children, and this pub went off and beyond to offer us a excellent service. My children are well behave and never had any issues, BUT is amazing when staff give more just to make you feel like at home! The lady called Donna was so kind to us and to all the other children there that made me feel confident that we'll be there more often!
