Gourmet Goat in Reigate and Banstead

Today was my last visit to this once good establishment. I ordered my food and waited for what seemed like a long time. When one of the two gents working asked me if I wanted to order, I reminded them that I had and showed them my receipt. Apparently they had given my food away to someone else and claimed that it was my fault, even though I have been standing there the entire time. It was like being in high school again: the lack of professionalism was truly spectacular.

Haven’t been back for a while and I was really looking forward to the Halloumi pilaff bowl. But I was massively disappointed. First a customer in front was complaining about the food I should have listened to him. The two servers where rude and them when they gave me my food they put bbq sauce on the pilaff. They didn’t state this on the menu and I hate bbq sauce! The halloumi was tiny strips. The pilaff didn’t have the same delicious ingredients it had before. The slaw had raisins in it which made it taste sweet. I had to ask for the chilli sauce stated on the menu when I complained they were angry. I was hungry and ate a bit of it but it was truly awful. Never again they have lost a customer. I think they have changed ownership as previously they were brilliant

After walking around circles in Borough Market, we decided to try the goat and veal bulgur pilaf. I have not really tried Mediterranean food before but it was so delicious! This was a good spot for a quick lunch

Exceeds expectations in every possible way. Having never tried goat, I was sceptical; but I shouldn't have been concerned.The goat was tender and I could detect all the greek herbs and spices; it was similar to lamb but leaner and less fatty.Definitely one to try if you like Greek food.

Very delicious, healthy and super filling lamb kofta salad. The service was fast and there was even a place to sit.

Rediscovered this little gem recently, 6-7 years after my last visit. Back then it was a street food cart, now it is permanently located inside the market with its own seating area. The menu has changed a bit but hands down it definitely lives up to memory. Absolutely great food, friendly staff and fab location. I definitely recommend a trip there.

“Goat” kofte has at most 25% meat, it’s more like a rosti with a sprinkling of meat. That said, the “potato-goat” kofte plus salad is quite tasty, especially the green sauce accompaniment- just don’t expect a goaty-meaty meal, and you will be happy!

First time trying this place for lunch, wasn't disappointed! Had the spicy goat kebab in bread wrap with nice parsley/mint and yoghurt sauces with a bottle of Greek beer to wash it down. Nice place to chill and chat in the shade on a hot day.

Soo yummy and filling! Had the rice box and got a pita on the side. The meat is nice and tender, everything else is fantastic too. There is always a queue so try and get there a bit early.

Gourmet Goat has been on my list of places to try for a while. The kid goat kofte came highly recommended, so that's what I opted for.The meat was tender with a nice mix of spices and onion and was complimented by the tzatziki and chili salsa. I opted for the Mediterranean slaw and chickpea salad as sides. Both were light and filling and I would be hard-pressed to name a favourite.The rose veal dish also sounded nice, so I'll be trying that next time.
