Public House in Reigate and Banstead

Had a fab first evening at Island House ! The food, ambience, staff were perfect . You can instantly tell that the person/team who created the restaurant have put so much thought and detail into the place. Even down to a well thought out wine and drinks menu. Thanks for a great evening. I will definitely be returning.

Really nice place, smart and relaxed. Visited with family for breakfast Saturday mid morning. It was surprisingly quiet. Service was excellent. Food is beautifully presented. We tried the full English breakfast, the Poached eggs with avocado on sourdough, and the Welsh rarebit. Only the Welsh rarebit disappointed. NB. The Welsh rarebit is part of the full English, or as a separate order. Priced on the high side, but reasonable for a special treat.

Good points - front of house staff and waiters excellent. Lovely venue and atmosphere. Delicious cocktails.Bad points - the smoked chicken dish was barely edible with gristle and tiny flakes of chicken - tasted like dog food. The food was appalling .

Lovely restaurant, very stylish and great cocktails. Been a couple of times and do feel it’s a bit style over substance. I’ve had the veggie burger, it was a bit stodgy and lacked flavour. Also tried soft shell crab, brioche was dry, and didn’t feel like there was much to the crab except the batter. Chicken burger ‘just wasn’t great’ in my boyfriends opinion. Overall maybe a bit overpriced for the food we’ve had.

Great vegetarian options. I’m obsessed with the tofu tacos and the truffle fries. The vegan burger is also really nice and I’ve always had a lovely experience with the staff.I’ve been to island house on several occasions including weekends, Sunday brunch, and weekday dinners. The brunch is great - really appreciate not having to stick to one drink throughout the experience.The lychee martini is the best cocktail I’ve ever had - fingers crossed one day it gets added to the bottomless brunch menu 🙏🏼

The place is well decorated, although the bar part is a bit too small. We had a meal and drinks in the restaurant and it was lovely. The food was exceptional. Definitely will be coming back to try more of their menu.

Fabulous restaurant, lovely decor with an intimate feel due to the muted colours, lighting and small interconnected rooms. Great food and service. A good selection of fish, meat and plant based dishes, our choices were beautifully cooked and delicious.

~ the people were really friendly, top marks!~ unfortunately some starters "weren't ready yet"... unusual~ they didn't have one of their 'by the glass' white wines available... which would've been fine, but we found out at the same time as the thing with the starters so it seemed like they weren't going to have anything~ the steak was very very good, even more so for the price~ bread is ridiculously overpriced. 2 little bits of focaccia and oil was £4, so bread for 4 people including service isn't far off £10~ they forgot my steak knife, which is quite basic~ they brought the drinks one by one too, which is weird~ I had to chase them up for one of the drinks which they forgot (probably due to the above)~ oh, and the toilets needed the various papers replenishingThe steak and chips were absolutely top notch - and I would love to come back, but hopefully some of the above is addressed before I do

Expected great things here, service was good but the food was not what I was hoping for. Still a very enjoyable afternoon.

An amazing dining experience. The food was incredible, the staff were very attentive and friendly and the restaurant itself was beautiful. The best meal we've had possibly ever! Great veggie selection - we had the halloumi croquettes and artichokes for starter, the veggie burger for main and the coconut sorbet and panacotta for dessert. We will be coming back again and again.
